What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting for the past 8 years. I started my cat sitting career in 2017 with my roommate in JC. She often went out of town or to events and I would watch her cat and administer medicine when asked. When I moved again in 2018 I continued watching after my roommates’ fur babies when she was away. My time sitting for free taught me that I have a knack for it and I learned how to communicate with cats and just be able to keep them calm and feel comfortable. I worked as a cat sitter professionally in 2021 and gained more skills and love for this profession.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy meeting new personalities and playtime. Sometimes I feel like I have more fun playing with with they toys than the cats and weirdly enough it makes them want to engage in playtime with me. I also love seeing growth in my relationships with the cats I watch regularly; it just amazes me how strong cats’ memories are and they just know you by scent and aura and it just fascinates me so.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

The most important thing to do when considering using any pet sitting service is to schedule a brief meet and greet with your prospective sitter. While people may deceive you cats know and pick up on the energy and the smell of someone. This helps you narrow down candidates and helps alleviate any anxieties you may have with leaving your kitty in the care of someone else.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
