What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been pet sitting professionally for 19 years. I have had so many experiences through the years that were mostly good. I only had one cat who was was territorial. He lounged every time I walked down the hall to get to where I had to care for him. I used some of my tricks to distract the cat while I fixed his food/water and litter box. It all worked out. But this is a perfect example as to why I don’t think it’s a good idea to hire your next-door neighbor’s child to care for your precious cat. Hire a seasoned professional to do the job.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Advice that I would give a perspective customer is to is for them to find a pet sitter who does this full-time. Meaning not someone who does this as a side job. I want clients to pick someone who will take the job seriously. A professional pet sitter will not let you down and back out at the last minute. A professional pet sitter is an isured company.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I have availability on all major holidays. I ask that the requests for care on major holiday be booked with a one month notice or more.

Karyn is a very reliable and professional pet sitter. She's been doing this for more then 15 years that I've been using her. Her app is amazing for scheduling and interacting with you. Not only was our pets more comfortable being in there own environment while we were away, our house was watched and mail brought in.

She was so attentive to Max's needs and kept me updated with photos and messages while I was away. Coming home to happy, relaxed cat was the best feeling. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
