What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most is the quiet bond that forms when a cat decides you’re safe. Whether it’s a curious tail flick, a slow blink, or the first time they curl up nearby, those little moments of trust feel incredibly special. I also love how every cat has their own rhythm. Some want playtime, others just want you to sit nearby while they nap in a sunbeam. Being able to tune in, adapt, and make them feel at home in their own space is really fulfilling. And of course, giving pet parents peace of mind while they’re away is the best part of all.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Look for someone who truly respects your cat’s boundaries and personality, not just someone who loves animals in general. A good cat sitter should understand that trust takes time and should be patient, observant, and consistent with routines. Don’t be afraid to ask detailed questions! about how they handle shy cats, administer meds, or keep you updated. And most importantly, go with someone who makes you feel at ease. If you feel calm after talking to them, chances are your cat will too. A thoughtful match makes all the difference for both you and your cat.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Safety and peace of mind are top priorities for me. I double check that all doors, windows, and screens are secure during each visit, and I never allow outdoor access unless it’s been clearly discussed and approved. I’m careful about keeping small objects, cords, or anything hazardous out of reach especially with curious or younger cats. I always follow feeding and medication instructions exactly as provided and monitor for any changes in behavior, appetite, or litter box habits. If something seems off, I communicate with the pet parent immediately. In terms of the home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would my own: turning off lights, locking up, and keeping things tidy. I also keep a low profile from the outside and never share visit details publicly, ensuring both your cat and home stay safe and secure while you’re away.

This was my first experience using Meowtel as care and Julie made the experience extremely relaxing. She took the time both before, during and after the meet & greet to ask excellent detailed questions about care for my senior cat, answer any questions i had as well and showed great interest in her health and well being. She was even willing to feed my fish and (plants if i had had any). She sent just the right amount of daily check ins with photos , ncarefully noting any changes to eating or litter box habits and went above and beyond to clean up and care for my very messy critter, planning visits just right to maximize time around my flights. She showed love and caring detail as if my pets were her own. The whole process was smooth and seamless and i would not hestitate to leave my pets in her care again in the future for more travel plans! Thank you Julie!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- February 13-19: Presidents Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Las Vegas cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Julie was an amazing cat sitter! She knew exactly how to care for our two very different cats, a 2-year-old ball of energy and a grumpy old man who needs daily medication. Her visit summaries were detailed and it was clear when we returned from our 11-day vacation that our cats had been well cared for.
