What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
In Reno I’ve been cat sitting for 5 years. Prior to living here, in Nashville for 5 years. And California before. My neighbors always ask me to sit their fur babies. Sometimes there are multiple households I’m able to take care of at the same time.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Purrs, cuddles, meows and slow blinking conversations. Making sure they have fresh water& clean surroundings. Including their litter box and food area.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Next door, my neighbor has 5 cats and I watched them for a month last time. I’d go over 3x a day. They’d need me at the door with leg weaves and longing looks for the “treat lady”.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Little Earl Grey. He has his own Insta account because he spills the tea. He love to play with his toys. Especially his little fuzzy catnip balls where he plays fetch. Retrieving it back to my lap. When he is worn out there are purring snuggles. He also gets along great with other cats & dogs!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Have a conversation to detail expectations. Describe personality traits, habits, likes, and dislikes. Ensure they are reliable and can provide references!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Ask lots of questions. Inquiring about all the little quirks the cat(s) may have. Ensure the schedule is mutually agreed upon.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Follow all the cat/ homeowners wishes& rules. Always visit alone. No extra people. Always make sure the home is fully locked upon arrival & exit.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. Always home for the holidays. We have a big house so all our family members come to us for holiday visits.
What is your favorite cat toy?
There are a few. All of his glitter catnip balls. And he’s has a red bird and feather tailed mouse that squeak when he activates play. It’s hilarious to watch!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience and even more patience. Knowing all interactions and interest is on their terms. They are always the boss and in charge!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Reno cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
