I would encourage cat parents to look for a sitter who truly understands cats and respects that each one has their own personality, boundaries, and routine. Lifelong cat people often recognize when to engage and when to give space, which is especially important for keeping visits low-stress. Clear communication, following instructions closely, and providing updates are also key so you can feel confident that your cat is being cared for thoughtfully while you’re away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new cat parent, I like to start with a conversation to learn about their cat’s routine, personality, and any quirks or preferences. I confirm the basics up front, such as visit timing, where supplies are kept, and anything they want me to prioritize. I also make sure I have important information like their vet or preferred emergency vet, as well as how reachable they will be while they are away and if there is a backup contact. I ask how much communication they would like during visits so updates feel reassuring and helpful. My goal is for the owner to feel fully comfortable before they leave and for their cat’s routine to stay as normal as possible.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
