What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy taking my time to learn about and understand the personality and behaviors of each cat! I feel cats are very misunderstood and have a lot of stigmas behind them, but to me it’s just all about empathy and understanding with them. They have boundaries and needs just like any other being.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I have a very observant eye and stay mindful of the environment or surroundings. I’m very proactive person so I like to make sure their environments are properly clean, put away, or clear so that both the cat and the home are safe. I tend to closely monitor cats if I notice they are on the move or active, while giving them their space if they are relaxing or sleeping.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I try not to startle them with any sudden moves and avoid trying to pet them right away since they are scared or cautious of me. I like to sit on the floor or crouch down to their level and gentle leave my hand out or let them come to me when they are comfortable. If they give me the cue that they are comfortable being pet, then I will try give them a gentle head or back pet or even a scratch behind the ears. I will not force anything with the cat if I notice it’s scared or anxious of me! An extra step I sometimes do, is speak their body language by slow blinking my eyes to show that I’m not a threat, but am safe and affectionate towards them!

Jasmine is new to catsitting but it feels like she’s done this before! She took amazing care of our fur babies while we were out of town for five days. She was very attentive and detailed with her updates throughout the day. She sent plenty of photos and even some videos. She was there every morning to give them breakfast and made sure they had everything they needed (cleaned litter box, filled water fountain and even vaccumed up any litter on the ground) before she left each day. Jasmine went above and beyond with taking care of our fur babies and I will definitely book with Jasmine again in the future!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
