What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been professionally cat sitting for over 4 years, caring for cats of all personalities—from playful kittens to shy rescues and senior companions. This isn’t just a side job for me; it’s something I do with genuine dedication and love. Every visit is a chance to build trust—with both the cat and their human. I take the time to learn each cat’s routine, preferences, and boundaries, so they feel safe, respected, and seen. What I love most is earning a cat’s trust and watching their true personality shine through over time. Each cat is so unique—some warm up right away, others take days—but when they start to feel safe and come out of their shell, it’s incredibly rewarding. I enjoy being a calm, consistent presence in their space—someone they can rely on while their humans are away. Whether it’s playtime, quiet companionship, or simply respecting their boundaries, I love meeting them where they are and making them feel seen, safe, and loved.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
It’s honestly hard to choose just one! Over the years, I’ve had the joy of caring for so many amazing cats—each with their own quirks, routines, and personalities. There have been shy rescues who slowly opened up, senior kitties who needed gentle care, and playful little ones who made me laugh out loud during visits. I think what stands out most isn’t a single reservation, but the pattern that’s emerged: I’ve been called a cat whisperer more times than I can count—and that never gets old. It means the world to me when a cat who usually hides ends up curled next to me, or when their human says, “I’ve never seen them take to someone so quickly.” Those moments are my favorite. Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I’m lucky to share my home with four beautiful cats who completely run the show (as they should 😄). • Emilia is my wise and elegant 9-year-old—she’s the queen of the house. • Martina is 7 and full of personality; she’s independent but super affectionate when she wants to be. • Olivia and Grey-C are both 2 and total opposites—one’s a cuddle bug, the other’s a quiet observer. They bring me so much joy every single day and constantly remind me why I love doing what I do. 💛🐾
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
My best advice? Choose someone who truly gets cats—not just someone who likes them. Look for a sitter who can recognize the subtle ways cats communicate, follow instructions with precision, and especially if your cat needs medication, someone who’s comfortable, calm, and experienced handling it. Take time to read reviews—not just the stars, but the stories. Look for consistency, warmth, and professionalism. And above all, trust someone who will treat your cat and your home with the same respect, care, and attention you would. When you’re away, your sitter should bring peace of mind—not more stress.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I know life gets busy, so I always try to keep things easy and flexible for new cat parents. We’ll start by chatting about your cat’s routine, personality, health needs, and anything else that helps me care for them just like you would. Then, if your schedule allows, I’ll stop by for a quick meet-and-greet to make sure your baby feels safe and comfortable with me. Whether you prefer a quick call, text, or just want to go straight into care with detailed instructions—I’ll adapt to your pace and what works best for you. My goal is always the same: make the process smooth, reassuring, and tailored to your cat’s needs—and your lifestyle.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Your cat’s safety and your home’s security are always top priorities during every visit. I double-check that all doors and windows are properly secured before leaving, and I’m mindful of any specific access instructions you provide—whether it’s a key, code, or lockbox. I always do a quick scan before leaving to make sure everything is just as you left it (or tidier 😄). You’ll receive frequent updates with clear photos and honest notes, so you never have to wonder how things are going. My clients often tell me they can fully relax while away because they know their babies—and their space—are in trustworthy hands.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I’m absolutely available during holidays! I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your babies while you’re away during busy times. Holidays can be stressful enough—so I do my best to offer reliable, consistent care that gives you peace of mind, even when things get hectic. Many of my clients count on me year after year during Independence , Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and other peak seasons—because they know I’ll show up, stay on top of routines, and keep them connected with thoughtful updates.
What is your favorite cat toy?
It honestly depends on the cat—each one has their own favorite style of play! But if I had to pick a go-to, feather wands are always a hit. They’re perfect for encouraging natural hunting behavior, getting shy kitties to engage from a distance, and creating a fun bonding moment. Some cats prefer slow, sneaky movements… others want to chase at full speed. I love figuring out what makes each kitty light up—and adjusting the play style to match their energy and mood.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I approach timid or anxious cats with patience, empathy, and deep respect for their boundaries. Every cat has their own pace, and I never force interaction—especially when they’re feeling unsure. Instead, I create a calm and predictable environment. I move slowly, speak softly, and give them the space to observe me from a distance until they feel safe enough to engage. Sometimes that happens on the first day—other times, it takes a few visits. Either way, I’m fully present and committed to earning their trust gently. Over the years, I’ve had many shy or fearful cats slowly open up, and those moments—when they finally come closer, sniff my hand, or sit nearby—are some of the most rewarding parts of this work.

One of my cats is extremely shy and tends to hide in impossible places, but Haidy cracked the code — she stayed patient, gentle, and creative until she found a method that worked. By the end of the trip, my shy girl was greeting her at the door. That alone speaks volumes. Her updates were detailed, thoughtful, and always reassuring. She sent videos, explained everything clearly, and went out of her way to make sure the cats felt safe and comfortable. My other cat adored her too and acted like the perfect little host every visit. Haidy was AMAZING! She absolutely saved us when there were logistical issues with another cat sitter. I am so grateful she could take our booking last minute, I was a bit frazzled with the whole thing but after the meet and greet I knew I had nothing to worry about. She was fantastic with our cats, both of whom are rescues and can be a bit shy with strangers. They both take meds and she was able to get them to both take their meds. By the end of the booking they were meeting her at the door to say hi. Her updates were detailed and the videos were so cute. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Jackson Heights cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

We went on a 10 day vacation and left our 2 cats at home under the care of Haidy. and I can safely say that choosing Haidy to watch over our cats was the best decision we made! She is a super compassionate, caring, and loving cat sitter. She made our cats feel so safe that within 2-3 days, our younger cat (who is extremely shy- and hides for hours just at the sight of a stranger) was playing with Haidy and our older cat started to greet Haidy at the door every time she came over. Our older cat also has some medical supplementary needs, which Haidy administered every day with ease. We will book Haidy again whenever we go on vacation next.

I was a bit hesitant using a service for my cat as I have never done that before, always relying on friends or family. I contacted Haidy seeing all of her positive reviews, and she assured me she will take care of my cat. As with most cat owners, we tend to worry about them the moment we go on vacation, but Haidy eased that from my mind the entire trip, she did everything I requested and sent pictures and videos. Haidy sat for my 2 cats for just about 3 weeks. One of my cats doesn’t like strangers and often hisses and will swat at newcomers. However, she was so good with them that she’d send me videos of him rubbing up to her and her giving him lots of pets. I haven’t had a sitter get that close with my boy cat ever. She sent multiple videos every visit, both of the cats and the apartment along with an update on how they were doing. She was amazing, she definitely had a special touch with them. Haidy took excellent care of my two cats while I was away for two weeks. She’s been our recurring catsitter several times now and we’re really happy with the care she takes in each visit. She was incredibly communicative, sending daily updates through videos and photos that gave me real peace of mind. The cats were well fed, happy, and clearly comfortable. She even made sure they stayed cool and safe during the recent heat wave, which I really appreciated. I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter!

Haidy took amazing care of our cats! She is very accomodating and able to learn to provide an inhaler to my asthmatic cat. This was my first experience with Meowtel and Haidy was wonderful! We met a couple of weeks before our trip and while we were away, she made both of our kitties so comfortable. Haidy is amazing! She not only did a great job with my cat and was so friendly and responsive, but she also was a lifesaver! My window broke while I was away and my cat could’ve gotten out. This is our second time booking with Haidy and she is amazing! Our boy was being fussy and picky this time but Haidy was patient and skilled at reading cat body language and behaviors. She would work with our boy to make sure he was eating, but never forced him to do anything he didn't want to. During our vacation, the weather at home was a bit unpredictable with heat waves and storms, Haidy helped us turn on/off AC, open/close windows as needed to keep our cats comfortable. She also sends lots of photos and videos after every visit!

Haidy went above and beyond, not only to take care of my two cats, but my apartment space, as well! She was thorough in her care: taking out the garbage after cleaning the litter and washing dishes after feeding the kitties. She even washed some of the dishes I didn't get a chance to wash before I left (sorry/thank you, Haidy!) and sent photos and videos of my babies to keep me updated while I was away. I will definitely call on Haidy again the next time I'm out of town!
