I bring a playful and loving attitude to cat sitting, but also know all kitties are different and some prefer a slower and gentle approach. It’s all about what your cat wants and needs... Hola! My name is Karina, and I would be honored to care for your fur babies. I didn’t grow up with cats, but after meeting my husband in college, I was turned into a cat person (and who can blame me!). I’m local to Western Queens.
I bring a playful and loving attitude to cat sitting, but also know all kitties are different and some prefer a slower and gentle approach. It’s all about what your cat wants and needs. Some cats want to run around and play, while others prefer we quietly sit together - I am flexible to what ever their style is.
I also want to ensure your peace of mind. Whether you need me to water plants, bring in packages, or take care of your home in any other way, I am happy to help!
I have been a patron of Meowtel and now would love to pay it forward and care for your cats while you’re away. I have experience with giving kitties their medication, and am familiar with cats with special diets. I want to make sure your kitties feel as comfortable as possible while you are away!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new cats and learning their distinct personalities. Cat language can be very straightforward, and I like their clear communication. They can be so silly, and funny to be around. I also tell them celebrity gossip. I’ve never met a cat who doesn’t love the Beyoncé/Jay-Z elevator story.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
We have 2 little ones, Carl (11) and Stanley (3) who are the joy in our lives. If you’ve ever heard of Kiki and Buba, Stanley is definitely Kiki and Carl is Buba.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
It all starts with getting to know your cats. I want to learn about their habits, schedules, and routines and built my visit around them. I want to learn what kind of play they enjoy, whether that be chasing a wand toy, pets and cuddles, or just sitting together. Medications are very important, so I’d spend some time asking you about that. I would also break down what you can expect from me (texts every visit, clean litter box, etc). I’m always open to doing things as your kitty likes!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Shy kitties are a speciality of mine, and it all starts with observing and listening. I always keep a slow approach. I find being quiet and still helps them set the boundary instead of them having to defend their personal space. I offer up my hand if they seem interested, and will let them rub against me if they would like. The cat leads and I follow. I take it as slow as they need and want. I’ve had cats who never come out, and that’s okay because that’s where they were. It’s all about making them feel comfortable and safe. I feel so proud whenever a shy cat feels safe enough to come out and interact with me.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Woodside cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Karina is one of those people who just really connects with cats. She absolutely adores her two little ones and always stops in her tracks to admire others she sees while out and about. She’s caring, reliable, and knows exactly how to make a cat feel comfortable and happy. I’ve known her for years and have seen her in action with pets of all personalities. Karina has experience both as a cat owner and as a sitter for friends and neighbors. She’s great with daily routines (feeding, litter box care, and playtime), and she’s very confident in giving medication when needed, always keeping the cat calm and comfortable. She notices the little things too, like subtle changes in mood or behavior, and health, which can make all the difference in a pet’s well-being. Beyond her skills, Karina is an incredibly trustworthy and responsible person.
