What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy the most about cat sitting is getting to know each cats personality. I also find it rewarding to see them happy as well as the parents happy when they are in my care.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am usually available during the holiday times. I know that the holidays are a happy time but can also be a stressful time for owners if they cannot find a reliable cat sitter.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience is definitely key with cats that are timid and anxious. I allow them to come to me when they are ready. When they do, playing with their favorite toy and giving a treat can help build trust between us.

Avalyn visited my cat for 5 days while I was away. She was very attentive to my cat who was quickly won over by her. I use a complicated feeding system and she followed my instructions to the letter. When I came home the litter box, and space in general, was tidy. She rolled with cleaning up cat puke and him knocking over a lamp while I was gone and did a perfect job. I would totally use her services again.

Avalyn did an excellent job with our kitten, Poppy! She sent us frequent updates with pictures, and was sure to clean the areas around both the food and litter box to ease our arrival back home. I would highly recommend her! :)

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
