My name is Rainier, and I adore cats. I have a little calico at home, and she is such a goofball! She loves to play, and is very affectionate, but she is extremely food-motivated, so I have plenty of experience making sure that she doesn't get into food that she's not supposed to be eating.
I have 1.5 years of experience as a veterinary assistant and am comfortable with giving medication, fluids, or any other accommodat... Hi there!

I have experience pet-sitting for households with both cats and other types of pets, including dogs of all sizes, reptiles, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, and fish.
I am aware that COVID is not over, and I will happily wear a mask while cat-sitting. I will also wash my hands immediately upon entering and before exiting each residence.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love cats and taking care of animals, and it has been a lot of fun to meet so many people's pets. It's also kinda cool to see the different care set-ups that people use and get ideas for my own cats.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 2 cats myself! Epi, a small and very silly calico with a single piece of kibble for a brain, and Duke Zagnar the Ever-Formal, a tuxedo who is too smart for his own good and always causing trouble. I love them both dearly.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I tend to let them do their thing. I'm not a fan of forcing animals into uncomfortable situations, so I make sure I take care of things like food and litterboxes quietly and let the cats approach me if they so choose.

Rainier was able to handle everything from last minute changes to uncooperative med times, prescription foods and was even able to charm my shy girl. This was by far the least stressed that I've been leaving my babies and I could not have asked for a better experience!

Rainier was amazing! This was my first experience with Meowtel and my first kitty in 20 years thanks to the Cat Distribution System placing Hellios on my doorstep. Hellios is still very shy about people so I was worried he'd hide. But nope! Not at all! I even think he misses them a little. I could not have asked for a better first time experience.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Rensselaer cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Rainier was so wonderful!! Asked all the right questions to prepare for a Thurs-Sun reservation, and then was super attentive and communicative with check-ins while I was away. And when I got back, my cats were their happy little usual gremlin selves - zero stress, like I hadn't even been gone. Will absolutely book again next time I need to travel!

This was my first time booking Rainier, and everything went really well! We had some abrupt changes in plans - one cat had some feeding and medication changes, and then our flights got canceled so we had to adjust times. We recently returned from our first overnight trip away from our 6-month old tortie sisters. They can he reserved around new people, but were comfortable with Rainier from the initial meet & greet.
