What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I most enjoy getting to know the cats I’m taking care of. Every kitty has their own unique purrsonality and I love becoming friends with them all.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have two adorable kitties, a rescued ~3 year old named Sapphire and a boisterous 9 month old named Teddy.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My mantra when dealing with them is “Low and Slow”, low energy and slow movements. I will find a place to sit quietly and wait for the cat to come to me, do whatever I can to show them I am not a threat.

Bracha was absolutely great! She has a very calm demeanor that allowed my normally skittish cats to warm up to her very quickly. She took great care of my 3 cats and even managed to wrangle my difficult one to give him his medicine (quite an impressive feat since he’s a challenge). I very much looked forward to and appreciated her daily communication on the well being of my cats, as well as any things she noticed (hair balls, fighting, etc.). She also provided daily pictures and even videos sometimes, which helped as I was missing them while I was away. I’d definitely recommend her services and I will continue to reach out to her as well.

Bracha took excellent care of cats. Their love of animals shone through. When we learned she was studying to be a vet, we knew we were in good hands. The cats warmed up to her instantly and was even able to coax belly rubs out of both! We will be sure to hire them again!

Bracho updated me on my cats letting me know how they were doing. She sent me pictures too. She was even kind enough to meet up with me afterwards to give me my spare keys since my youngest cat knows how to open my door if it’s not bolted 🤦🏼♀️I will definitely book with her again

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Rockaway Park cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
