Hi! My name is Mikaela and I currently work as a lab quality analyst during the day. I love all cats and feel that I am very attentive to their body language to see how they want to be treated. For this reason, cats always seem to gravitate towards me :).

If you choose me to look after your cat, I’ll ensure they are comfortable and well cared for! I know it’s important to minimize stress as much as possible, and will do my best to follow their normal routine. If your cat loves cuddles and affection, I’m more than happy to provide that, but will also respect their wishes if they want to be left alone as well.

I am generally available weekday evenings after 8pm. On the weekends I’m very flexible. I’m in the Edgewater area and am able to travel to surrounding areas as well. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My partner and I have three kitties, Jasper, who is 1 year old and very playful, Lyla who is 10 years old and more reserved, and Saeris, our new kitten :).

What is your favorite cat toy?

My cats favorite toys are wand toys with feathers on the end! They love to chase them around and have very good hunting instincts.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I treat timid and anxious cats very carefully and never pressure them into interacting with me. I find this often makes the cat want to retreat even more. Instead, I try to make my behavior and voice as calm and predictable as possible. I let the cat smell my hand and sit patiently with them to see if they want to interact further. If not, that’s ok, I can always try again later, but I make sure to give them their space.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
