My family didn’t have any pets growing up and my dad would always talk about how gross cats are. Despite this, I LOVED my next-door neighbor’s two cats and would often play with them. Eventually, my brother and I would cat-sit for her when she was out of town. Word spread, and I received more cat-sitting gigs throughout the neighborhood.
As an introvert, I naturally connect with cats easier than dogs because they tend to be more chill. This is not to say that all cats lay around and nap all day—my dude Ezra is prone to the zoomies at all hours of the day... Hey there… I’m Spring! My co-conspirator is my 14-year-old grey tabby, Ezra. He rescued me at the shelter—I mean... I rescued him.

This is not to say that all cats lay around and nap all day—my dude Ezra is prone to the zoomies at all hours of the day. I love that cats are independent, sneaky, sassy, and affectionate. They’re stubborn, and I appreciate that. I think that getting to know cats as a child taught me about boundaries and respect—cats will definitely tell you if you are invading their space.
Although cats are so independent, they also need dedicated care and attention. I get so frustrated when people joke about how cats are easy—“just leave them a pile of food and water and you can leave them for a week!” NO, Just no! Just because they don’t need to be taken out for relief like dogs, doesn’t mean you can just abandon them for a couple of days. Many cats have specific diets and routines that should be followed to keep them happy and safe. Not to mention needing playtime!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
This is hard, but one of my favorite gigs was for an adorable menagerie of 4 cats—all with vastly different personalities. I dubbed them “the Ezra doppelgänger,” “the anxious one,” “the hungry one,” and “the sleepy one.” My goal the entire reservation was to get “the anxious one” to let me near him and it took time (and lots of hilarious photos of him hiding from me with the most dramatic panic-stricken facial expression) but he finally opened up to me at the end.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have a 14-year-old grey tabby named Ezra. He is the BEST! Little bit of sass, lots of cuddles.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I LOVE some Skitter Critters. Also love playing with cats with wand toys because they can get so engaged! And cardboard boxes.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I love all kitties—especially the shy ones! Although my goal is to get every cat out and about to cuddle and play, I give shy kitties lots of space and time to feel comfortable around me. I will never pressure a cat to do anything!

Our AC unit fizzled out while we were abroad, but Spring let us know ASAP and helped us keep the kitties as comfortable as possible in the heat until it was replaced. She responded quickly to questions and gave daily updates along with cat pics! The cats loved her and were in great hands with her :)

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cleveland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Spring was amazing. She sent us updates, photos and video every morning she spent with our fur babies. One of our three cats requires daily medication and she had no problem administering the proper dosage. She was patient with our medicated cat, who is also very moody and anxious. It meant the world to us. She not only cleaned the litter boxes and feed the cats, she spent time in their space and played with them before leaving. Our youngest cat, Smokey Bear; our 5-yr-old, 17 lb lump of love, really warmed up to Spring. Smokey usually runs down into our basement to hide when new people come over. Within a day or two Smokey was plopping over next to Spring, asking and accepting belly rubs. Our vacation was so much more enjoyable knowing that our babies were well taken care of. We’ll definitely be hiring Spring again for future getaways.

Spring is a the best!! My husband and I just moved to Cleveland a few months ago and unfortunately we don’t have the friends and family network that we had when we lived in Nebraska. I was very skeptical about using a cat sitter we hadn’t met before, but Summer was so amazing. We set up a reservation and she responded very quickly and accepted the reservation. We set up a meet and greet with her and the kitties and they immediately loved her! I even messaged her because I forgot to ask her to give the kitties Delectables for Thanksgiving and she said absolutely! She sent soooooooooo many videos and pictures. She even took some of the cutest pictures of our fur babies! I would 100% recommend Spring!
