I love cats and would be the perfect cat sitter for you and your fur babies because I've always had a pet in my home since the age of 5. Yes, my first pet was a dog and I do love them, but a cat fit in my lap much easier! All of my cats throughout my life have either been feral or from a shelter/foster situation. I love to take them from a not the best situation into my loving home, and spoil them a bit! My last cat I had before my current 6, had diabetes and was required to have insulin twice a day, so I am comfortable administering medication via needles, if needed.
I currently have 6 cats that once again are from a local foster. The 2 oldest are sisters & have a year younger brother.

I just love how comforting cats are and no matter how you're feeling, they are always there to give you love and I want to be the one there for your cat when you can't be!
I am currently a stay-at-home mom who works part-time and I'm going back to school part-time for Business Administration, so my time I can take care of your fur babies is very flexible. I have also volunteered at rescues before, so I know how much work these amazing agencies do to help our babies out and I can't wait to help you out with yours!
I can't wait to meet your babies and take care of them when you're on vacation or just out of town for a day or two.
I am located in Westerville, Ohio and prefer to sit in Westerville, Powell, Worthington, New Albany, Dublin and Northwest Columbus. If you are located outside my service area, please message me as I will make acceptions to certain locations/areas/situations.
You can be guaranteed to receive multiple photos, videos and updates about your babies daily, while you are away. If there's any sanitation or health/safety precautions you have, just let me know and they will be followed and of course I will remove my shoes upon entering your home, just like in mine!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have had good experiences with cat sitting. Cats seem to like me, even when they are shy or timid. I have been officially cat sitting with Meowtel since December of 2022, but have babysat dogs and cats off and on for several years.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to spend time with the fur babies and get extra love from them. It is also great to be able to bring the shy ones out of their shells!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I sure do, I have 6! Their names are Margarita, Tequila, Jack, Bailey, Whiskey and Fireball Finch. They are also all rescues.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Check reviews and ask the sitters questions if you have any questions. I am always open to answer any questions that you may have and incorporate any routines that you may have.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always make sure that the outside doors are latched so there is no chance of anyone escaping out the door. I make sure that everything inside is how I would leave my home if my fur babies are left home alone. When I leave the house, I make sure that the lights are how they were when I arrived and make sure that the doors are locked.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Most definitely! I do have a daughter, but we can adjust our holiday schedules to accommodate your reservation, as we are very flexible.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Having 2 timid ones of my own, I just work with them at their own pace. I sit on the floor near them and do not act aggressively to pet or try to touch them. I like them to get comfortable with me on their own time.

Melissa took phenomenal care of Ruby. She was communicative and patient when Ruby was a little shy. We felt comfortable the entire time we were away because of Melissa’s care for Ruby and her thorough updates. We would certainly recommend Melissa as a cat sitter!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
