Cat Sitting in North Wales, PA

Hi! I’m McKayla, and I’ve been around cats my entire life. I’ve also been cat sitting for the past 4 years, so I’m very comfortable caring for cats with all kinds of personalities and needs.

I’ve always been the person who gravitates toward the cat in the room. Whether they’re social and playful or more shy and reserved, I take the time to build trust and let them come to me at their own pace.

I know how hard it can be to leave your cat with someone else, so I focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and understood while you’re away...

I know how hard it can be to leave your cat with someone else, so I focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and understood while you’re away. I pay close attention to routines, litter box care, feeding schedules, and any specific instructions you have, because I know those details matter.

I’m naturally patient and calm, which helps especially with anxious or more independent cats. I’m just as happy playing and engaging with energetic cats as I am sitting quietly with a shy one.

You can expect reliable visits, clear communication, and thoughtful updates with photos so you always feel connected while you’re away.

At the end of the day, I treat every cat like they’re my own—because they deserve that level of care.

Learn More About Mckayla

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to know each cat’s individual personality and earning their trust over time. Every cat is different—some are immediately affectionate, while others need a little space and patience—and I really enjoy adapting to what makes each one feel safe and comfortable. I also love being able to keep their routine consistent while their owner is away, so they can stay relaxed in their own environment. There’s something really rewarding about seeing a shy or cautious cat slowly start to warm up and feel at ease. Most of all, I like knowing I’m helping both the cat and their owner feel less stressed during time apart.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes—I have two boy cats, Theodore and Franklin, and they’re very much part of my everyday life. Theodore is more of the “I want attention on my terms” type, while Franklin is a bit more playful and curious, so I’ve gotten used to reading different moods and knowing when a cat wants interaction versus when they just want their space. Living with them has made me really in tune with cat behavior in a natural, day-to-day way—not just in theory. They’ve also taught me a lot about routines, patience, and how important it is for cats to feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. That’s something I always carry with me when I’m cat sitting, because I know how much those small details matter to both cats and their owners.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When I start working with a new cat parent, my goal is to make sure both you and your cat feel comfortable and confident from the very beginning. I like to start with a meet and greet whenever possible. This gives me a chance to meet you and your cat in person, learn your cat’s routine, and go over any important details like feeding schedules, litter box preferences, personality traits, and anything else that helps me provide the best care. It also gives your cat a chance to get familiar with me in their own space. During visits, I always move at your cat’s pace. If they’re social, I’ll engage with play and attention. If they’re shy or unsure, I give them space and let them warm up naturally without pressure. My focus is keeping their environment calm, consistent, and comfortable. I follow all care instructions closely, take care of feeding and litter

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

North Wales cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
