Cat Sitting in Providence, RI

I know how to speak cat! I once had the experience of working for the retail side of a cat behaviorist’s pet care business. During those two years, I helped many cat parents explore the benefits of dedicated playtime with their cats.
I grew up with a big orange cat named Murphy; when he passed, I volunteered at an all cat shelter and learned a lot about caring for cats.
As Murphy aged, he needed treatment for various ailments and so I learned how to give subcutaneous fluids, and became more skilled at administering medications...

I grew up with a big orange cat named Murphy; when he passed, I volunteered at an all cat shelter and learned a lot about caring for cats.
As Murphy aged, he needed treatment for various ailments and so I learned how to give subcutaneous fluids, and became more skilled at administering medications.
I now live with Larry and Louise, two goofy orange tabbies, and have had experience administering eyedrops and pills for them as well.
Louise was “aggressive” when we adopted her; I took what I learned from my other experiences and she has grown into a sweet, cuddly lap cat. She’s strict about her boundaries, and she taught me the importance of really ‘listening’ to cat body language.
I’ve been cat sitting for a few years now, and absolutely love it. Each cat is different and I conduct my visits accordingly - I’m happy to play with energetic cats for the full visit, or if a cat wants to slowwwly get to know me, I’ll let them take their time adjusting to my scent before approaching.
Thank you for looking at my profile and I hope to hear from you soon!

Learn More About Jules

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I had a three week house-sit for a 12 year-old cat named Turbo over the winter holidays. He was particular about his wants and needs and would pace about and whine when unhappy; his pawrent reported that after the last time he’d left him for a few days, he took quite some time to get back to his normal routine. I wanted to make sure that Turbo would feel comfortable with me, and whenever I wasn’t at work, he was my priority, especially those first few days. I let him take his time getting comfortable with me, but once he had his scent on all my things, he was happy. After a couple days, we had a great routine of playtime, eating, resting, etc., down. His pawrent was so happy when he came home - no yelling, whining, or weirdness from Turbo! I loved having the opportunity to really bond.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Once we've booked, we'll do a meet & greet in your home, and If the cats are interested I'll meet them (if not, that's okay!). I'll just need to know the basics of how you care for your pet and where their supplies are and we will go over any questions either of us has.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am! I do work at a cafe as well, and am needed there on holidays, but I can easily do both!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience and time are the most important strategies, though I do have a few tricks up my sleeve, too! (Really, sometimes it’s treats or a toy I’ve brought, sometimes it’s something with my scent…). The other important strategy is to not overwhelm or scare a cat who is already nervous.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Jules was absolutely amazing! This was their first time catsitting for us, and they were a total 10/10. They took such wonderful care of our 17 year old kitty, Eve; sending us tons of adorable photos and thoughtful updates that kept us smiling the whole time we were away. They treated Eve like their own and took such great care of our home, too. Their gentle, grounding energy gave us real peace of mind and made our getaway feel truly freeing. It’s rare to find someone who cares this deeply and we’re beyond grateful to have found them. We will absolutely be trusting Jules with Eve again, and highly recommend them for your sitting needs. They’re a gem!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Providence cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
