I believe cats deserve patience, kindness, and respect... My name is Janel, and although I didn’t grow up with cats, that changed in 2011 when I adopted my first two cats, a brother and sister, Meo and Girl Kitty. Meo was a beautiful orange boy, and Girl Kitty is his sweet sister. Sadly, I lost Meo in 2024, but Girl Kitty is still going strong and continues to bring so much love and joy into my life. From the moment I welcomed them into my home, they quickly became the loves of my life.
I believe cats deserve patience, kindness, and respect. When meeting a cat, I take the time to gently introduce myself and let them set the pace. I never want to overwhelm or push a cat beyond its comfort zone. I pay attention to their personality and body language and give them the space and time they need to feel safe and comfortable.
I truly love cats and understand just how special they are to their families. I am a very trustworthy, caring, and responsible person, and I will treat your cats with the same love, patience, and respect that I would want for my own. Your cats will be in caring hands, and I will make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you are away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I genuinely love cats and animals of all kinds, and I truly enjoy spending time with them and giving them the love, attention, and care they deserve. I want every cat in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I take the time to keep them company, give them affection, and make sure they know they are not alone and are in caring, trustworthy hands.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Trust your instincts when choosing someone to care for your cat. You’ll often have a feeling deep down about whether a person is trustworthy, caring, and truly the right fit for your furry family member. Before making your decision, have the potential sitter meet your cat in person and spend some time with them. This gives you the opportunity to get to know the sitter, see how they interact with your cat, and ask any questions you may have. Pay attention to how comfortable your cat seems around them as well. Most importantly, choose someone who makes you feel confident, comfortable, and at peace knowing that your beloved cat will be safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When I first brought my cats home, they were very nervous, scared, and unsure of me. Instead of overwhelming them, I gave them the space, patience, and respect they needed to feel safe and comfortable. I let them come to me on their own terms and never forced their affection. Over time, that patience and trust allowed us to form an incredibly strong bond. Eventually, they became attached to me and wanted to be by my side all the time. It taught me that when you give a cat the time and space to feel safe, they will often come to you when they’re ready—and the bond you build can be incredibly special.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
