I have over 20 years of professional experience working with cats and dogs and even more with my own fur babies. I focus on delivering exceptional care in and outside the veterinary field. I have a well-versed knowledge of animal needs, behavior and handling.
I am equipped to give any medication if needed. I have experience with giving inhalant and oral medications, as well as subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous injections. My cats are my world and they put up with me living in theirs. I’ve had fur babies my whole life. Over time I have become a crazy cat lady. I like to think I can relate to them. I also love them all, even the ones that aren’t all that fond of me. It doesn’t happen that often, but they are cats after all. I’m so excited to meet your fur babies and provide them with the best care I can while you are away. I can’t think of a better way to start, end or spend my day than talking, playing, petting, and cuddling kitties.
I live in Wylie. I am open to visiting multiple times a day to accommodate medications or feeding schedules. I am available most holidays as well as weekends.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting with Meowtel for the last 3 years. I started working with cats at a boarding facility just over 20 years ago and I have continued over the years working with cats in and out of a veterinary clinic and a shelter.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy getting to know each kitty's personality in their environment.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have Little Squishy that's a tuxedo and Big Squishy that is a calico. They are siblings that are 11 years old. They found me when they were just a few weeks old. I also have a 2 year old male orange tabby named, Sunny Bunny Booboo Bear. Our newest baby is now a year old. Her name is Halo. She is a brown tabby and white. She is the sweetest, silliest cat I have ever met.

This was my first time ever using a pet sitter, and I honestly regret not doing it sooner. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Shawnda. One of my babies had just undergone dental surgery and wasn’t eating and spent most of the time hiding. Shawnda truly went above and beyond, caring for my cats as if they were her own. She was incredibly patient and understanding with me while I was feeling anxious and worried. Knowing they were in her care gave me so much peace of mind. I had never loved my kitten this long before and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter to leave him with. she sent lots of pictures and message me back very timely. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Garland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Shawnda was amazing. She is very responsive and sends pictures and detailed updates every visit. She is also a vet tech and it put me at ease knowing a true professional was coming in every day to check on our cat, who is prone to developing ulcers on her eye. This came in handy when our cat did develop a small ulcer—Shawnda brought her into her clinic and then worked with us to adjust her visits so she could administer antibiotics twice a day. By the time we got back from our trip, our cat’s eye was looking significantly better. Shawnda also offered to water some plants for us, which we absolutely did not expect but appreciated! I seriously cannot recommend Shawnda enough!! Your kitty(ies) will be in great hands.
