Cat Sitting in Dallas, TX
I have had a multi-cat family ever since I can remember; when I was young, my family had almost as many cats as humans, and we often fostered cats and dogs for local rescues too. Since I grew up on a 7-acre farm, we always seemed to have room for another cat... and another dog... and perhaps another rabbit, horse, and cow as well! As an adult, I would often take in strays, getting them vet check-ups and helping them find their purrrfect forever homes... Nice to meet you! I'm Marcus - security guard by night, single parent by day! I'm excited to join the ranks of Meowtel's cat sitters because cats have long been my favorite pets, (I think people who aren't cat people often don't realize how affectionate and loyal cats are once they've bonded with you) and I’m hoping to return to working full-time in pet care.

As an adult, I would often take in strays, getting them vet check-ups and helping them find their purrrfect forever homes. (I’ve also found myself raising several litters of kittens when momma cat decided to move in with me!) Unfortunately, my current landlord has a 'no dogs or cats' policy (perhaps cat sitting will help me refrain from sneaking a kitten into my apartment), so my current family includes a blue-tongued skink, a colony of dairy cow isopods, and a small school of neon tetras instead of furred family members.
As for my pet care cred: I have about 4 years of professional experience in animal care; most of that has involved me caring for cats and dogs, typically overnight, including some situations involving administering oral medications, ear drops, and ointments. Additionally, I have several years of experience volunteering – I've helped feed, clean, cuddle, and care for pets at small local shelters, though some of my favorite places to volunteer were the Dallas Zoo (where I worked with zookeepers caring for okapi and caracals) and In-Sync Exotics (an exotic cat rescue).
I am available to travel across the North Dallas region, including regions in Plano, Richardson, and Garland. Early mornings through afternoon times are easiest to fit into my schedule; typically, evening times would only be available during part of the week.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love having the opportunity to meet so many amazing cats! Having a chance to give pet parents peace of mind that their cats are being well cared for, while also getting the opportunity to visit, cuddle, and play with all these different kitties is like a dream come true!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Always let the sitter meet your cat before committing to a booking! Sometimes cats and people just don't click, and there's nothing wrong with that, but you also don't want to find that out after scheduling a sitter and heading out of town. Meet & greets also let the sitters get a sense of your cat's baseline and ask any questions they may have - a win-win scenario!
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am typically available during holidays. I don't tend to travel around those times, and plenty of years working in customer service industries means I'm accustomed to working when other businesses are closed.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I've always loved playing with the feather wands - especially if they also have bells. Sometimes the cats even seem to enjoy playing with me! 😸
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Don't force any direct interaction, and always approach on their terms; checking their condition to make sure they're healthy and well can be done while still respecting their space. A shower & change of clothes before heading to their home can also make sure you don't add any stress from them smelling other pets on you.

Marcus is an excellent pet sitter! We asked him to take care of our two cats for a full week while we took a vacation, and Marcus delivered high quality care for the entire duration. In addition to the standard feeding and litter cleaning, Marcus took the time to play with our cats when time permitted, and went above and beyond with making sure that one of our cats (who hides from strangers) ate their food each day. He even swept up stray litter around the litter boxes on the last day and left us a little thank you note :3 I highly recommend Marcus as a cat sitter!

Marcus was very detailed and accommodating to meet our kitties at our home and took time to ask important questions prior to our departure. Marcus was very understanding towards our very shy kitty and very loving to our affectionate one. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Dallas cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
