What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been watching my friends cats since college. I lived at school during the summers so I would watch their animals during breaks. I treated them like my own & loved every minute!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
My love for animals goes beyond just my own. I know how stressful it can be to leave your animals and I love being able to make them feel comfortable while you’re away. My favorite part about cat sitting is the greeting I get every time I walk through the door and the chatty meows once they know they’re about to be fed, pet and played with!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat sitting reservation was my very first client who has two adorable tabby cats. The male cat (the shy one) was so comfortable with me he actually laid on my back while I bent over to get him some treats. It was adorable and made me feel so loved!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Absolutely! I have three rescues and a saved stray cat at home - Luna, Beans, and Penny! They are the total opposite but love to chase each other around the house, take naps with the window cracked, and of course wake me up at 6 a.m. when they’re hungry (even when they still have food in their bowls)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Leaving your cat can be daunting but setting up a meet & greet is a great way to get to know the sitter and see how they interact with your cat. There are no stupid questions and feel free to be open. Your animal relies on you to relay information about themselves (unless you have a talking cat in which that would be incredible)
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Setting up a meet & greet is the best way to get to know me and I get to know you & your pets. After you show me where your cat eats, sleeps, drinks, and uses the bathroom, I always make sure I ask for a specific vet just in case of any emergency’s (just precautionary) and re-iterate that your fur baby is safe with me while you’re away!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
To ensure the safety & security of the cats and your home - I always send follow up messages & pictures once my visit ends to make sure you feel secure that your fur baby has been checked on, loved, fed, and played with!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I typically have to work so I am around the area for the holiday seasons and offer no surcharge!
What is your favorite cat toy?
Any feather teaser wand! My cats adore it and I love seeing their eyes get wide when they play and the little wiggle they do before they pounce!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Animal anxiety is very real. As a cat mom of a very anxious cat, I always try to greet them slowly and from a distance. I like to allow the cat to come to me and share their scent by either sniffing my hand or allowing them to make their territory. I will never force your cat to do something it doesn’t want, including being pet if they want their space!

She took her time to get to know each one of them and what they like and don't like. By the end of week, they all liked her and some loved her! Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Dallas cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!

Allie was amazing with my Freddie! I was on an international trip which meant a big time difference and she shared updates with that in mind. I’m usually worried about pet sitters getting access to my keys, parking, and overall having to ask me questions while I am out. Allie never had any issues and followed my notes perfectly. Allie is absolutely amazing!! She is certainly a Cat Lover and knows exactly how to take care of them!! My old cat Tiggie is 21 years old and needs additional attention and love.
