I have been caring for cats since I was young and even ... My name is Kayla and I live in New Braunfels. I am a homeschool mother of three, part time esthetician, and child care provider at the local Unitarian Church.

I have been caring for cats since I was young and even rescued a kitten, raising it for weeks in my room before my mother found out, lol. I have a background in healthcare from my days as a licensed EMT and have experience with cats from very young to very old.
I have a flexible schedule and am available on weekends and holidays.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to meet new cats and explore their unique personalities. Also I take a lot of pride and being able to navigate their specific needs, ultimately providing the more comfortable experience for them to feel safe during a time that could be difficult for them
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Three cats who belonged to a pagan household. One cat, who wasn't afraid of us seemed to enjoy hiding so we had to find her and once we did she would follow us out and eat her dinner
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
We have 4 kittens. Cotton, Dodi-o are brother and sister, born on April fools day. Jiji and Nevermore and new additions to our home and are rescues. Jiji is 8 months old and Nevermore is 3 months old.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I usually am. As a homeschooling family we tend to celebrate around the holiday rather than day of. My family lives in Fort Worth so we sometimds attend Thanksgiving or Christmas there
What is your favorite cat toy?
Wand toys seem to be a hit with most cats. I especially like the metal wands because they spring back
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I move quietly and maybe put a favorite treat near them before I go about my responsibilities. Eventually I'll sit on a chair or the floor and doing a quiet activity and hoping the kitty will be curious to come and greet me

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
