Cat Sitting in San Antonio, TX
I was raised with cats my entire life. As a child, my parents always kept our cats outdoors in California.
In 2007 I adopted my first two cats from the animal shelter in Orange, California. Those cats moved with me to Texas and were indoor only from the very first day they came home. Bella and Rascal were my first experience at having indoor cats, and I have not looked back since.
We have an outside stray that I take care of. His name is Blue... I have 4 indoor cats, and they are my babies. It’s hard to find someone to watch them that I trust. I rescued a sibling duo - Hank & June from Helotes Humane Society almost 4 years ago. And my second duo are brothers born on my porch.

We have an outside stray that I take care of. His name is Blue. He’s feline hiv positive. I took him in for all his vaccines, blood / urine / fecal testing and got him neutered to protect the other cats in the area as best as I could. He has since brought his baby mama that we’ve named Violet, a stunning green eyed calico and his baby, that my toddler named Little Bitsy. Bitsy is white like Blue with Amber eyes and a black spot on her forehead.
I know how important it is for someone who really loves your pets as much as you do to watch them. And that’s why I cat sit. Because I truly love cats.
I work full-time as a Senior Quality Control Analyst for a local credit union. I do work remotely from home in between Alamo Ranch and Helotes. This area works best for me to cat sit. I can come by fairly easily during the day and evenings. I can do any time on the weekends.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love all the different types of cats and seeing all the different personalities! Some are shy, others are playful. Some just want to cuddle on the couch. I just meet them wherever they are.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two indoor cats - Hank and June. I also take care of outside stray cats we’ve named Blue, Violet and Little Bitsy.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to set up a meet and greet the week before my pet parents leave. So I can see what needs to be done, where everything is, and meet the kitties. I ask questions and take notes. I also answer any questions the pet parent has.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always bring in trash cans if it’s been trash day. I put trash cans out if it’s trash day and bring them back up at the end of the day or the next visit. I make sure there are no newspapers, flyers or business cards on the doors and no packages on the doorstep. I’m very cautious of my surroundings and pay attention to who’s around, depending on the cat, I might put my purse down by my legs to walk in to make sure the kitty can’t get out. I always double check that all the doors and windows are locked when I leave.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I try to be available as many holidays as possible. I keep my schedule as updated as possible and as far ahead as possible.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I meet each cat where they are at. If they want love, I shower them with it. If they are shy or timid, I just speak to them softly as I move around doing litters, food and water. I offer treats that the pet parents leave and try to offer play time with their toys. I do not push myself onto any cat. I do at least try to lay eyes on them and send a photo of them to their pet parent.

If you are at all hesitant about using Meowtel, Deidra will put your mind at rest. She is outstanding, from our meet and greet before our booking, throughout and after. I thought no one could take care of my pampered boys as well as I could but I was wrong, Deidra will love on and care for your pets like they are her own. My two aren’t the easiest, one is shy and often makes a mess outside his box, the other takes medication, Deidra handled it all like a champ. Super respectful of our home, making sure alarms were always set, messes were cleaned, and daily photos and updates, Deidra really goes above and beyond, she’s like a Mary Poppins for your kitties, I hope she’ll be our cat sitter furrever!! I really can’t say enough good things, so I’ll leave it to the boys “We love you Auntie Deidra”

Deidra was amazing. From the minute we met her at the meet and greet, all the way through our reservation. She was great with our kitties, and even got our extremely shy, skittish kitten out playing and taking treats. He even seems less skittish with us now. Deidra went way above and beyond, even taking care of some household tasks that were neither required of or asked of her, but were needed and very much appreciated. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Antonio cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

Deidra is a wonderful cat sitter!!! I was a nervous cat momma leaving my kitties in a new house this year, but I knew they were in good hands with Deidra. On top of that, my babies are shy, but they started to warm to her near the end of my trip. She took such great care of my babies and my house- she sent me updates ad pics every day! Deidre went over and above this visit and it was surely appreciated. I had to go home for a funeral and she helped me with the kitties and a few extras so I didn't have to worry or come home to a lot of work when I got back. Deidra is AWESOME. She was so accommodating and made me feel completely at ease. You can tell immediately she is passionate about pets and takes her responsibilities seriously. Not only did she come over on a major holiday but she also went above and beyond, helping me with tasks I wouldn't have even asked her to do, like bringing in my trashcan from the street.
