I love cats because they're the kind of animals you can form an incredibly strong bond with. They can be very affectionate, funny, and emotionally supportive all at once. I've had cats since I was 3 years old, and I currently have one black kitty, who got me through the COVID-19 lockdown and some pretty rough spots in life. My cat's name is Duke, but my husband nicknamed him Bigotes (which is Whiskers in Spanish). My kitty is incredibly important to me, as both a pet and a companion. Although I also love dogs, cats are my favorite pets because you have to build trust and understanding before you can build a friendship with them... I am an organized, responsible cat lover with time to take care of your dearest fur babies. Your kitties will be in GREAT hands!

When I’m not cat-sitting, I'm working my 8-5 remotely as an accountant. My educational background includes a bachelor’s in Medical Humanities and a master’s in Business. I was born in Iowa and raised in Northwest San Antonio. In my spare time, I love to paint with acrylics, cook, spend time with my husband, and cuddle with my beloved kitty :)
I’ve volunteered at the San Antonio Humane Society and taken care of family friends’ cats before. I give preventative flea medicine to my own cat, so I feel comfortable administering medication to client kitties if needed. I’m fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and open to wearing a mask in your home if you prefer. Between visiting different kitties, you can be sure that I will wash my hands and maintain good hygiene in your home. I'm great with following directions, so your precious fur babies will be taken care of to the very best of my ability.
Cat sitting began as a simple side job, but I've really enjoyed it so far. The clients have been wonderful, and playing with their kitties is even better.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I started cat sitting for my friends in 2020, and I've been on Meowtel since 2022. I love my clients and their kitties! I've never had an issue during my visits. When I'm not cleaning the litter box or giving them food, it's time to pet and play!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
After all of the normal tasks are done, my favorite thing to do is pet the kitties and give them some love! Most of my clients' cats are friendly and want to be pet while their cat parents are away. Truly the best thing for me is feeling their soft fur and hearing them pur!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a black cat, named Duke. He's 4 years old, and he keeps me on my toes! 😊 What I love most about him is that he's very playful and affectionate.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
One of the most important things is keeping the cats away from the door when I go into the home. I try to make some noise when I open the door and check that a kitty isn't trying to get out. For the security of the home, I always double-check that the door is properly locked when I leave.

Yes, I'm usually available during holidays!
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toy is a plastic spring. One of my clients had springs around the house for one of their cats (who was very active and playful), so it prompted me to get springs for my cat. It's so simple, doesn't require batteries, and it's so funny to watch kitties play with them! Just be prepared to find them under the couch!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For cats that are timid or anxious, I prefer to leave them be and try not to overstep their boundaries. Because I'm a stranger to them, it would be best to reach out my hand (from a distance) and let them come to me - NOT attempt to chase them down. It's normal for some cats to be shy around their cat sitter! Every cat has a different personality, and it's important to respect that.

Sarah managed to charm even our shyest kitty, kept our home spotless despite having multiple cats (and them being naughty and somehow getting into the bathroom and terrorizing our towels which Sarah fixed for us!), obviously kept them happy with food and water (I swear they all gained weight…lol), kept me up to date with notes and photos, put some food back in the freezer when we forgot it (not part of her job) and just overall was fantastic! She communicated well and reached out with questions/observations we might want to note (sneezing cat). She will be our go to person for as long as she’s willing to sit for us. She is wonderful!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Antonio cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Sarah was fantastic! From our meet and greet she demonstrated that she was responsible and accountable. She took notes of the various tasks I was asking to be completed and replied to messages promptly. Days before our trip she followed up, and during our trip she checked in with a summary after every visit. It was evident our shy Pinky was comfortable with her.
