What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I want you to feel comfortable leaving your cat in my care, so communication is important to me from the start. I'll ask about your cat's personality, daily routine, feeding instructions, litter box needs, favorite activities, and anything else that helps me provide personalized care. I'll also ask about emergency contacts and your preferred way to receive updates. During visits, I'll follow your instructions, give your cat attention at their own pace, take care of feeding and litter cleanup, and send photos and updates so you know how things are going. My goal is to make your time away easier for both you and your cat!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Your cat's safety and your peace of mind are my priorities. I'll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, care, and your home's security. I'll make sure doors are secure, watch for potential hazards, and take care when entering and leaving so your cat doesn't slip outside. I'll also pay attention to changes in your cat's behavior, appetite, or litter box habits and communicate any concerns promptly. I'll treat your home with respect and keep you updated with messages and photos during my visits.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I understand that not every cat warms up to new people right away, and that's perfectly okay! With 35 years of experience owning cats, I know how important it is to respect their individual personalities and boundaries. I'll give shy cats space, speak softly, move calmly, and let them approach me when they're ready. I won't force interaction or rush the process. My goal is to help every cat feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, even if that means earning their trust a little at a time. ❤️

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
