What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been a cat pawrent since 1989. I volunteer at the local rescue when I can. I have been pet sitting since 2018.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Making sure that my clients cats are well looked after and taken care of. I like to say I'm Aunt Stacie.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Honestly, they are all wonderful bookings. One that comes to mind is a cat that didn't like anybody but his pawrents and he required meds applied in his ear. On the first visit, I sat there talking softly and let him come to me. After that, I was told that he knew the sound of my car and would start meowing waiting for me to come in (they had cameras). We were buddies.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do have kitties myself! Currently, I am "staff" to two kitties ~ Auggie, 16 yo male tuxedo and Emma, 8 yo tabby female.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would recommend asking for a referral from family, friend, coworker or vet. Set up a meet n greet. Ask the potential sitter questions.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When a new cat pawrent reaches out for sitting, the first step is to set up a meet n greet. Make sure it's a good fit.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

After the meet and greet I ask the pawrent to email essential information such as emergency contacts, veterinary details, feeding instructions, and any special care requirements ahead of the booking. I make sure the litter is scooped every visit and food and water refreshed each day based on instructions. I double check the cat is in the house and make sure the door is securely locked.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am available for cat sitting on holidays. I realize those are the busiest travel times for fur pawrents.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Most wand toys. In my experience, however, most cats like the inexpensive ones, like tin foil balls and paper bags.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I will approach the cat calmly and respectfully, allow them to initiate contact on their terms. Getting down on the floor with them is a great way to earn their respect! Use soothing words to establish trust and build a bond with the cat.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our Meowtel Protection Plan in the event that things don't go as planned.
