What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have done cat sitting for family and friends for many years and I officially started with Meowtel in 2021. Life circumstances caused me to take a break for a year and a half, but I am happy to finally be able to open my availability again.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I most enjoy getting to spend time around more cats. It is also nice to be able to give people peace of mind while they are away from their home and cats, as I know that it something I would worry about extensively myself.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a 4 year old Abyssinian boy. His formal name is Sun Wukong, courtesy name is Goku.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Just to read over everything each sitter lists on their profile so you can find the one who best fits your needs.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I am always cautious when entering and leaving a house to ensure no kitty toes get squished by the door and no cats get outside.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am available most holidays! The only holiday I ever sometimes take a trip for is new years, but not always.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Usually some type of wand toy, I feel like most cats can have fun with it and it is a great way to engage with them for quality time. And if it is a high energy cat like mine, I don't only sit and bounce it around though, I will also run and drag it around the house to make it more exciting until they have gotten enough exercise and wind down.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My neighbor has a feral kitty she rescued. She would always hide when people come over. So when I was taking care of her for over a week, each day when I enter the house I softly call out her name and I will continue speaking while I am setting her food out and cleaning the box etc. By the third day of this, she finally poked her head out and stole a glance at me. By the fifth day she came out and finally let me pet her and she loved on me. I know that letting a timid cat get used to the sound of you coming into their home will help them gradually feel more comfortable.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
