I recently moved to Alexandria, but have lived in... My name is Ashley and I am a lifelong cat mom! I grew up with cats of all ages from kittens who need more dedicated play time and interaction, to elderly cats requiring a more patient and gentle approach. My childhood cat is still living her best life and turning 21 this year. She does have hyperthyroidism so I am experienced administering oral and topical medications.
I recently moved to Alexandria, but have lived in the DMV area since 2014. I work in international business, and spend my free time renovating our house and exercising.
I am new to the app so please reach out to set up a meet and greet so I can meet you and your pets!
I am primarily available in the evenings and weekends, but can be flexible based on location. I have a vehicle so I am able to visit locations around Alexandria, Arlington, Springfield and Annandale.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting on and off for neighbors, friends and family, and am looking to cat sit in my community for others!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! Samie, who is turning 21 this year, and Luna, who is going on four. We adopted Luna to give Samie some company, and they are very happy together now.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I know how quick cats can be, so from first opening the door of the house, I am watching to ensure the cat doesn’t try to slip by. Once I spend time feeding and playing with the cats, I ensure that everything is put away to make sure the cat cannot get into anything they shouldn’t be in. I’ll make sure any pet cameras are functioning properly, as well as provide daily text and picture updates for peace of mind.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give the cat time to warm up to me, letting them get a sense of my smell and providing things like toys, food and treats to build trust. I try to quietly talk to the cat to get used to me, but provide plenty of space for them to decide if and when they want to approach.

I absolutely cannot recommend Ashley enough! This was supposed to be a quick and easy weekend trip when suddenly a snowstorm rolled into town and our flights back home were cancelled. I was so worried - this has been my nightmare since moving up to DC four years ago. Ashley came in on Sunday and absolutely melted all my worries. She was so responsive, setting up extra food, water, and litter for my three cats. She even had the foresight to ask about my flight back and made room in her schedule to accommodate me. It was a dream to work with her and know that my cats were in such good hands. I appreciate the detailed write ups and photos of my kitties and all the love and care she put into taking care of them!! Thank you so much Ashley!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Alexandria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
