What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have cat sat for friends over long periods of time. That includes either staying at their place of residence for that time or making twice daily trips to care for the cats.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Having all important care instructions and emergence numbers with me during every visit is important. I know families will have their preferences on how they would like me to enter the house and lock up each time. I know it’s also important for cat door hygiene to be entering doors they know not to go through or being aware of cats that may like to escape when doors are opened.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available during most holidays, but definetly available during Christmas and the New Year. I am also in town during school holidays as well.

We are woefully behind on these reviews, I’m so sorry. Aniqa is the cat whisperers of all cat whisperers and it shows in the photos she sends us when we’re away. Our two little tabbies, who are usually kind of standoffish sometimes, are all over this gal. It’s quite possible Aniqa was a cat in a previous life. She’s super punctual, great with communicating with us, took care of business with feeding & such, and entertained them both like a professional, all in 30 minutes bits. Aniqa has been a wonderful find, and super cool to boot (I had the chance to meet her a few times when I was home). Thank you Aniqa and Meowtel for the top shelf service. if you ever need a sitter for your cat, I highly recommend Aniqa . My cat Mowgli warmed up to her the very first time meet & greet. Aniqa was very punctual , caring , responsible . Aniqa kept my place nice and clean. One time my cat threw up, Aniqa cleaned up my carpet perfectly . she spent time with my cat, petting, gave him loves like her owns. I am extremely happy with everything Aniqa did for my cat during 3 weeks I was out of the country. Aniqa updated me after every visit with my cat, she sent pictures or video of that day, that’s very thoughtful , also felt good knowing your cat is in good hand. Thank you so much again Aniqa for great service that you provided .

We went away for two weeks and Aniqa kept us updated on our cat the whole time. She played with him lots and gave him lots of love while we were away. She even brushed him one visit which we did not ask her to do! she went above and beyond for our pet. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Alexandria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
