I started Stacy's Kitty Care as part of pursuing employment that I'm passionate about and enjoy. In addition to kitty butler-ing, I work PT as an Operations & EA coordinator for a long-time national nonprofit. I enjoy, and need, the flexibility of having work from home jobs. This means I'm open to watching your cats at times that are part of their regular routine.
I know it’s hard to leave the furry love of your life. I make sure when I watch someone else’s baby that I look out for them as if they were my own at my house.
I’m located next to Shirlington, VA and easily able to travel within 5-miles of my location. I can do up to twice daily, hour-long check-ins.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been watching cats for friends and neighbors since 2018. I’ve done a lot of work with shy babies, special fluids, finicky eaters, runners and the best meowdals ever.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy chatting to and getting to know different cats. They have such interesting personalities and cat kisses are the best when I've earned them! It’s a joy to help pawrents continue to give the loving care their babies need.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I adopted Maxwell Miguel, my 2 year-old baby. The love foster pawrents give to kitties who need a home inspires me in my cat-sitting. The more you love a cat, the better experience for us both.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to go over a list of care, home and behavior questions. I also go over emergency protocols and procedures to plan for anything. Communication and consistency are very important for all the humans caring for a cat. This way a relationship of trust is built and we can be clearheaded should an emergency arise.
Are you usually available during holidays?
My immediate family lives in the DCMV area, so I don’t travel around major holidays. If my status is listed as unavailable during a holiday, that means I’m fully booked for new clients. I try to accommodate returning clients as much as possible during busy season. Maintaining your baby's care and my relationship with them is super important to me. I get disappointed if I can't make a booking work. I typically reach out to repeat clients with a heads up before closing holiday reservations.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give them space and try to move as calmly and chill as possible. These kitties need special care and consideration and don’t need me rudely being noisy or getting into their space w/o permission. Sometimes, I play calming music, an audiobook, or softly sing silly songs while I sit in the doorway and they hide. I let them observe me without looking at them. I try to give them all the passive reassurance they need.

She was great at managing expectations in regards to how the visits would go, and what to expect for communication. we felt very comfortable having her cat sit based on her extensive experience doing this. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Alexandria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Thankful to Stacy for taking care of my cat. She was very communicative, friendly, and patient. My cat has never had a sitter but they seemed to get along well. Our only issue was with my cat’s sub q treatments but I believe she tried her best and kept me updated the whole time. She tried everything I suggested but we could not find the problem. She ended up getting at least half the dosage. She went above and beyond by amazingly keeping the plants happy during the humid hot days. She noticed and immediately cleaned up an accident my cat had on bed making it possible for me to go to sleep when I got home late.

Stacy is so patient with my babies! She made sure they were fed and loved, and coaxed them out of their (grumpy) shells. I came home to two very happy kitties!

Stacy was absolutely incredible and my boys just loved her. She’s so thorough and truly cares for your animals as your own. I have already booked her again for a longer trip we have coming up in July. Note: she’s 100% a 5 star (the app somehow gave 4 but she’s definitely 5 stars!!)
