Growing up we always had cats in the home, usually two at a time. Since moving to the DC area I have had cats in the home on and off, but right now I am (kitty) child-less. I used to use cat sitting as a way to get my kitty fix, but as business has grown it has become much more of a commitment to providing a purrsonable experience for pet parents while still creating a bond with each kitty. We all know they each have their own little identity and personal preferences, and I have become somewhat of an expert in reading the room. I see this as luxury service and strive to live up to that reputation.
I’m in South Arlington and willing to travel in the general vicinity, with an expanded radius for overnight house sits. I have experience administering oral medications, twice daily insulin, and (I didn't know these existed before) kitty inhalers. The inhaler was with my own cat and was a struggle at first, but once understood it became a lot easier.
If I am not pet sitting you might find me at a sporting event, perusing craft festivals, doing a jigsaw puzzle, or picking up yet another hobby or DIY project.
It is my mission to treat everyone's little fur baby as my own. Whether you want me to stop in to give food and pets, or booked an overnight stay, I want to make sure your baby is well loved and taken care of as if you were home.
**The way to get started on this app is to send a reservation request for your upcoming needs. That will give me more information about what you're looking for and will show me the profile you made for your cat(s). If I'm able to accept the reservation I will do that and reach out for a meet & greet. The meet & greet is fairly simple and makes sure you're requests and my services are a good fit. What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
My advice to cat parents is to share as much information as possible and leave a written copy of instructions for the stay. Even if you use the same instructions over and over, it is really helpful to have on hand. Including any preferences for your cats or home. Especially important to let your sitter know if anyone will be stopping by the house while you're away (cleaners, family members, etc).
What is your favorite cat toy?
Hands down it is any toy on a stick or string. They universally go crazy for them and it creates a nice distance when getting to know a new cat and what might cause them to scratch or bite.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Most cats will eventually warm up and they will do so even sooner when you give them space and refrain from sudden movements. It's really important to take their cues and not push the limits on what they are comfortable with. That will never encourage them to say hello. I like to sit by quietly after giving them their food and just let them set the tone. Some days we will just be in the same room, and eventually they will come up and sniff, hopefully even let me pet them!

Jackie is a gem! I have an older guy who needs several medication’s, and another boy who tends to be a scaredy-cat. The scaredy-cat totally fell in love with Jackie and hung out with her at every visit. Jackie went above and beyond to make sure that my older guy got his meds. She was dedicated and skillful in building trust with him, and very creative when he decided to hide. Her communication was excellent. All that added up to a worry-free trip for me because I knew my boys were in such good hands.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Arlington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
