My name is David and I've been a cat parent since I rescued a cat during a blizzard at 5 years old! From then on my love of cats gew into becoming a cat parent myself since my early teens!
I have a lot of experience dealing with all kinds of kitties young and old alike. I rescued a pregnant momma kitty with my wife, and took care of her and all her babies until they were paired with their forever homes! I also have experience with giving cats medications, subcutaneous fluids, and inhalers. If your kitty needs special care, I'm your guy!
My friends like to call me a "cat whisperer". So many times I've heard, "My cat isn't usually this friendly with strangers!". Cats and I just really mesh well together ❤️

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new kitties and getting to learn about them. Every cat has a story and unique personality. I like to really get to know and bond with every kitty I watch over.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Biggest thing is being clear and detailed about expectations. If there are any specific feeding times, medications or food additives, or anything other than the normal expected tasks needed done during the sit.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Meeting with the cat parent to go over the details of the cat sit, ensuring all needed information is exchanged. Setting up a time to exchange the key if needed, and then getting into the sit. Communicating with the cat parent during each day, and following up once the sit is complete to ensure everything is to their satisfaction.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love playing with wands and making my kitties do tricks! I also love to play with the laser pointer and watch them run all over the house.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Biggest thing is giving them the space and time to approach you. Letting them know you're in their space, but you're here for them. Treats also help get a kitty on your side!

David is the loving owner of 3 cats that live happy, healthy, and in good relation with eachother. I've known him since around mid 2019 and have seen him care for cats through all stages of life. One cat who was near the end of her life, one passing middle age, 2 new kittens (now adults), and several other rescue cats that they helped to find new homes. I believe it was a mother cat with 4 kittens. Of the many times I have visited over the years I have never seen any error in the level of care given to any animals. Especially in times when a cat has specific medical needs, he has been very attentive to each cat's requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Dumfries cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
