What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting consistently for just shy of 2 years now, but have cat sit off and on for about 2 years prior. So in total - almost 4 years.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I LOVE cats, I have 2 of my own and I can’t imagine my life without them. Working in animal care I crossed paths with a variety of animals and personalities - but I gravitate towards cats most. Cats are incredibly discerning, so when I go to sit for a cat that isn’t the friendliest or is pretty shy, it always feels like I won the lottery when we’ve become friends by the end of the sit. There’s no better feeling than knowing a cat likes you and seeks you out of all the people in a room!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My initial process is to always gather history before we meet, I like to set everyone up for success and to make sure that we’re a good fit to work together. Based on what your expectations are and the cats needs, I let clients know as soon as possible if I’m the best fit for the timeframe requested. If I am, I always do a in-person meet & great, to see where all the supplies is located, get a good gauge for each cats routine, and most importantly meet your cat!!! It not only makes me feel confident and prepared to have the lay of the land ahead of time - I’m also not a complete stranger to your cat when I come to check in on them for the first time!

Ciara was super detail oriented and took amazing care of my cats. She administered inhaler meds twice a day, kept youtube cat TV playing between visits, and even watered my basil. Highly recommend - I will def be booking with her again.

Ciarra was wonderful! She kept me updated throughout my trip and was able to handle my sometimes difficult cats as well as two that needed different medications. It was very reassuring that she could handle a cat with diabetes needing insulin and she took it in stride when a UTI popped up in another cat just before our trip. The cats warmed up to her quickly and she was professional, friendly, and prompt in her responses. Her attention to detail and care in our home were much appreciated. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for good cat care!!

Ciarra is so sweet! My cats have some major stranger-danger issues, and she was able to take care of them without any problems. My older cat got her meds every day, my younger cat showed his face occasionally, and no wild catnip parties were thrown in our absence. Ciarra was very flexible when my schedule changed at the last minute, was personable to my elderly parents who were at home but cannot take care of the cats themselves, and even took out the garbage for us. Overall, I highly recommend her, and have already booked her for my next 2 trips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Glen Allen cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
