When meeting a cat for the first time, if their body language indicates an approach would be OK, I let them sniff my hand or clothes, whatever they are interested in. If it’s an energetic cat that wants to play right away, we’ll play with a wand toy... For 28 years, my own cats have ranged from kitten to seniors. I've administered meds and fluids. I fostered newborn-to-10-month-old kittens for 4 years, and also recently received training and then socialized cats and kittens at Tacoma Humane Society for 7 months.
When meeting a cat for the first time, if their body language indicates an approach would be OK, I let them sniff my hand or clothes, whatever they are interested in. If it’s an energetic cat that wants to play right away, we’ll play with a wand toy. If it’s a cautious or less energetic cat, I’ll just share space with the cat. If a cat is timid, I give it as much space as it needs, not rushing the friendship. When any Cat indicates it wants pets, I’m ready to oblige.
I’m a pretty quiet person and wouldn’t have any loud noises that would be startling to your cat. With me, your cat will hear normal household noises, including a radio. if your cat its soothed by classical music, etc., I’m happy to play it for them.
I truly enjoy the company of cats, their antics, their affection, etc., but I also respect their needs and boundaries.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
One of the things I enjoy most about cat sitting is communicating to cat that they’re safe and cared for while their parents are away. I make sure the cat has access to hidey holes and any places their parents tell me are favorite spots. I let the cat decide when we will interact other than a little bit of status checking. For example, if treats are OK, I’ll toss some for the cat, as well as gently introduce the wand toy from a distance. If the cat wants to play, great; if not, I’ll try again later. I’m skilled in reading cat body language to understand how much interaction the cat is comfortable with. If a cat isn’t comfortable interacting during my whole stay, that’s OK. I’ll maintain a calm home, ensure some toys are available, and keep your cat safe, fed, and hydrated.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I’m available for any hours during all holidays. I would be very happy to keep your cat safe, calm, loved, and mentally and physically stimulated while you’re away.
What is your favorite cat toy?
One of my favorite cat toys is the wand toy, especially in combination with a tunnel or cardboard box. With a wand toy, I can tailor the play energy to each cat. I also enjoy watching their cute faces change with the ebb and flow of excitement.

Amanda is an amazing animal lover! She dotes on her baby boy, Gideon! He's a medium size mixed breed doggie. His manners are impeccable, and he's the sweetest little boy! You can tell he loves her so much! She obviously reciprocates that love! Furthermore she gives her baby the stimuli that he needs. She always takes him out for walkies, and socializes him thoroughly! Additionally, Amanda treats my baby boy kitty with the same kind of love and affection, as she shows her lil man! I can totally vouch for Amanda, as she is my roommate! You will be gaining an asset should you hire Amanda as one of your sitters! She's the best roommate I've ever haa. My second biggest prerequisite for her becoming my roommate, next to paying the bills on time, was to be an animal lover. lover! Well I certainly haven't had to worry about that, because she smashes that one!!! Please give her a chance, and you'll be glad you did!

She took over, found the specialists he needed, took him to his appointments, administered the medications, and kept close watch on him for weeks. She was totally dedicated to his care. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
