I can also be a little OCD about things, so I’ll be sure to follow your instructions, because I don’t want to get it wrong. The more details you give me, the more comfortable I am being with your cats! If you’d like me to roll your trash cans to the road or grab the mail, maybe even water the plants, I’m happy to do those things as well! I can’t wait to meet your little furry friends!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for over 20 years. I always looked forward to hanging out with the cats that it never seemed like I was “working.” Most of the cats I’ve sat haven’t needed any medications, but the ones that did, I was able to administer like a champ. I always thought I was so “cool” in high school because I got to cat sit and make money.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
It doesn’t feel like work! It feels like a second nature for me to walk in, see a cat, play with her, and relax with her. I don’t want the cat to feel like I’m rushed, so I like to just take a few deep breaths, calm myself, then walk in and care for the cat. I want to make sure she feels comfortable and safe, so there’s no stressing for her while you’re gone. I take my time and keep us both (or all) relaxed.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a DSH female cat named Cinder that we rescued from a shelter over five years ago. She gets so many compliments on her behaviors around others.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like for you to tell me what you expect first: When to feed, where’s the treats and brush, is there medication? Once you’ve gone over things with me, I’ll explain what you should expect from me each visit: a couple pics, maybe a video, a detailed text update. I make sure your vet release is signed. You wouldn’t want to be in the middle of the Caribbean and your cat need an emergency vet visit, but idk where you prefer I take her. Even though I am friends with an emergency veterinarian I would take her to in a pinch, I’d still rather you have your form on file so you’re comfortable with the care she receives. I trust that my updates for you reassure your confidence in me.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am. We don’t travel often, so you can count on me to be there for your fur babies! We do take a short trip around New Year’s every year, but that’s really the only holiday I’m unavailable.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
This can be a tough one because I don’t want to stress the cat even more. I have found just calling to them softly and clicking my tongue while remaining slow and calm can help them warm up and come around. I like to stick my hand out for them to smell me. If she runs against me, I’ll pet her. If I feel she’s not ready, I carry on and try again later. I don’t force physical interaction. I have noticed the more i go over to visit, the more comfortable the cats become, and the more they come around and let me pet them. If the cat lets me know to leave her alone, I’ll back off because I don’t want to upset her.

I received a messaged when she visited the house, along with updates about my babies. I have 3 kitties with challenging personalities.. who dont always like new people... she tried to befriend them, but handled some hisses and angry meows like a champ! 😆 Her communication is truly amazing and settled my nerves while I was away. She sent picture's and applied medicine per my instructions. I will absolutely be using her as a pet sotter again!

We could not recommend her enough! She did an excellent job caring for our elderly cat, who requires daily medication. She met with us beforehand, asked thoughtful questions, and followed all of our instructions carefully. She also sent us updates every day, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly took great care of our cat. We would absolutely trust her to watch him again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Mcfarland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Stevi is amazing! If you are looking for someone reliable who your cat will love, Stevi is the one!! It’s so clear to me when I come home from a trip that Stevi takes good care of my cat. Often times, my cat (nyx) will seem visibly stressed when I come back from long (more than 3 days) trips.
