I've been a devoted cat parent and occasional sitter for over twenty years, caring for cats of all ages—from playful kittens to dignified super-seniors. My cats' safety, comfort, and happiness are always a top priority for me when I leave town, and I treat your fur kids with the same level of care. Right now, I'm servant to two beloved fur kids, Anathema and Aziraphale, who keep me well-trained and remind me daily just how unique every cat's personality can be.
How I conduct visits depends entirely on your cat's personality and your detailed instructions. I am organized and prepared to follow your routine precisely to keep your cat(s) healthy, happy, and well-cared for. I typically take care of business first: refreshing food and water, scooping the litter box, and a quick tidy up of any kitty-related messes. Then it’s time for companionship! For outgoing cats, there's brushing, playtime with toys, and plenty of pets. For shy or cautious kitties, I’ll give them space, often sitting quietly in an open spot to read for a bit so they can approach me on their own terms. Even if your cat prefers little interaction, I will always try my best to get eyes on the appropriate number of whiskered noses to ensure everyone is safe and accounted for. Eventually, I hope there is enough trust for a gentle pet or a well-deserved (parent approved!) treat!
One of my specialties is senior cat care and cats with chronic health concerns. I have years of experience dealing with issues like kidney disease, liver disease, anemia, and hyperthyroidism. I am comfortable with complex medication routines. I am skilled in giving subcutaneous fluids, pills (like Denamarin, methimazole, mirtazapine, and antibiotics), compounded liquid medication, and injections, as well as syringe feeding adult cats. If your feline companion requires extra medical attention or just consistent, loving care, you can feel confident I will follow their health routine meticulously.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting for friends, family, and colleagues for over 20 years. I have been hiring cat sitters since my first cat, Hermione, who I adopted in 2003. I've had so much luck finding great sitters. I can only hope to be that for someone else!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
The cats, of course! All cats are unique, beautiful, independent little creatures. I love learning about their individual personalities. Few things feel more rewarding than gaining the trust of a shy, timid cat.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I house and cat sat for a family while I was living in Seattle. The family insisted I would never see her. I had her hanging out with me and sitting in my lap by the end of the week. Pippi was the sweetest little senior girl. We enjoyed sitting outside in the shade together.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Of course! My current pair are Aziraphale (tabby) and Anathema (void). Aziraphale is a rescued street kitty, born probably Jan/Feb 2020. He's my COVID kitty. Anathema was adopted from a foster family and was born around New Year's Day 2022. They have very different, delightful personalities. Aziraphale is extroverted, active, and eager to meet new people. Anathema is introverted, a bit more cautious, and likes her alone time. They are both talkers. My previous pair were Hermione (white, dob around Jan 2003) and Maynard (tuxedo, dob around May 2005). They were both from Seattle and each lived to be about 17. My soul kitties, the three of us went through so very much together. I miss them daily.

My cats continue to love Shauna very much. She does an excellent job following directions and giving medications. One of my cats, Badger, has a strict no chicken and hydrolyzed protein only diet for IBD, and Shauna takes it very seriously. She ensures that Badger does not get into anyone else’s food. When I got home last evening, I played one of her report videos while sitting on the couch and two of my cats- Pekoe and Tayto- perked up at the sound of her voice and looked for her. Purrfect vibes with Shauna!

Shauna is absolutely phenomenal! One of our cats doesn't usually like people and can be a little bitey, but he was coming up to Shauna for pets even on the meet and greet. He's only done that to two other people ever! Shauna sent amazing photos with every visit, which is no small feat, especially for our black cat who tends to look like a cryptid in photos. We saw that the cats were using toys and furniture that we've never seen them using before, and they seemed very content. When we get back from a trip where they've been boarded or even just left at home alone, they're usually pretty crabby to us for a few days. This time, they greeted us at the door demanding more pets and cuddles. Even the one who doesn't like to be held let me pick him up and he nuzzled his face against me. Then they went back to acting like we were never gone, except they want us to maintain the level of scritches and attention they were getting from Shauna. We were nervous to try another sitter after having some bad experiences before, but Shauna's updates put us at ease. The way the cats are acting after being spoiled with her attention just makes me want to leave them with her again! 😂

Shauna was absolutely wonderful with our two cats, Chico and Zeytin, this summer. We were away for an extended period, and knowing they were in her care gave us complete peace of mind. She sent thoughtful daily updates with photos, which we always looked forward to, and she carefully listened to our instructions and adapted to both our preferences and our cats’ personalities. What impressed us most was her patience. At first, both Chico and Zeytin were hiding from her. Zeytin is the shyest cat on the planet, so we never imagined she would warm up so quickly. But by the end of our trip, Zeytin was happily coming out to play laser with Shauna, and Chico was curling up on her lap and greeting her excitedly at each visit. Seeing both of our cats so comfortable and happy with her meant everything to us. Shauna also went above and beyond by helping us with unexpected electrical issues after severe storms, keeping us updated and checking on everything for us. She is kind, reliable, communicative, and truly cares about the pets she looks after. We wholeheartedly recommend Shauna and would trust her with Chico and Zeytin again in a heartbeat!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Morgantown cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
