Growing up, I often cat sat for neighbors, and took care of our family cat while in college when my parents retired and started to travel.
My husband and I moved down to the Bay Area in 2020 and adopted our first together, a Maine Coon named Nebula, who is a headstrong, independent, and very opinionated princess. She rules both our lives and household. Growing up, I also had a Maine Coon, so I am very comfortable taking care of big cats with a lot of attitude.
I went to college to be a historian and worked at a museum before covid, so dispensing facts (especially cat facts) is definitely a talent of mine. My partner works in tech, so I am used to the fluxuation of schedule and can accommodate accordingly. I am a social butterfly so keeping you updated on your furry friends isn't a problem for me. Making your travel time a bit less stressful would be my pleasure.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been pet sitting for neighbors and family friends on and off for my whole life. I’ve been working with Meowtel since the beginning of May 2024 and all of the cats I’ve had the pleasure of helping have been amazing.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to meet new cats. Every one has a new personality, and as a cat parent to a little girl who doesn't like cuddles, it gives me an opportunity fulfill that.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
There are so many clients I love seeing in my bookings, and a lot of them bring different things that make my day! One is a previous feral that has decided my lap is his favorite place and I can't leave without some lap time, Another is a very loving kitty that would prefer if I held him in my arms the whole time. There is a very smart one that can solve food puzzles at the blink of an eye and insists I carry him around in a box so he feels like royalty. I also have two older ladies that get excited every time I stop by, and act like kittens again. All of the cats I sit for have such a special place in my life.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a 5 year old Maine Coon named Nebula. She is a silver calico with lots of cattitude. Growing up we has a Maine Coon mix. His name was Snickers. He was full of personality and loved to explore.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I would require a meet and greet with the owner present and for their pets to get used to me and my smells while still with their safety person. Then I would go over expectations for me during their trip, such as food/ med schedules, if they would like check ins and how often, litter inspection, and favortie toys and treats.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I find treats and patience often help break the tension. My cat is very timid with new people, but she becomes a social butterfly with wet food and treats. I usually get down on the floor with them and just chat. They like having you at their level and over time will feel comfortable enough to approach and access.

Allison was fantastic! Best cat sitter ever! She knew exactly how to slowly gain the trust of our very shy cat who would hide under the bed when she arrived. In just a few days, our Sage warmed up to her and became her friend. Sage even became sassy toward the end of the trip as she felt comfortable enough to do that!! Prior to our trip, we had been battling ants! We had hoped we got a head of them before we left, but we mentioned it to Allison just in case. OMG did the ants come back and Allison would clean them up and use the safe spray that would not harm our indoor cat! We so appreciate her going above and beyond.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Cupertino cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $40.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

This was my first reservation with Allison, and was a bit worried because my cats are very shy around new people. I was very relieved when my tuxedo warmed up to her at the meet and greet. The pictures I got on day 1, told me that they were best friends from the start. My tabby took a couple days to warm up, but the pics from day 3 showed me that they also bonded. This gave me such peace while I was away! Allison went above and beyond, and I will definitely be working with her again when I need to go out of town! She is truly a cat whisperer!!

Allison is great! I was nervous about leaving for a few days, but after meeting Allison and getting her first update I felt relieved. She gave a detailed update with photos, and took such good care of all 4 of the cats! She made sure they were comfortable when it got hot and let us know right away when one of our cats wasnt feeling well. She monitored him until he was feeling better, which we appreciated so much. I will definitely schedule with Allison again!

We had to travel on short notice and Allison was very kind to quickly accommodate a first visit to meet our kittties. They loved her and we are very happy with how much care she put into each visit. Will definitely book again when needed.
