My experience includes working with rescues, fostering critical health cases, and learning alongside holistic practitioners, which has given me a strong foundation in feline behavior and wellness across all life stages... I’m a small-animal health student with a deep passion for felines. Cats have taught me so much over the years, and I return the favor by providing attentive, compassionate care that respects each cat’s unique personality, needs, and boundaries.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I began pet sitting in 2015 while attending college. What started as one testimonial from a classmate’s family quickly grew through word-of-mouth, and over the past 10 years I’ve had the privilege of caring for pets across several neighborhoods I’ve lived in. During the pandemic, I adopted my own cat, which deepened my interest in feline behavior, health, and enrichment. That experience led me to focus my services exclusively on cats so I could provide more specialized care.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, and I actually enjoy supporting cat households during holidays. Because I work from home, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate consistent visits and last-minute needs when possible. Most holidays I remain in town, as my immediate family lives nearby, which makes it easy for me to prioritize caring for local cats while their families are away. Holiday sitting is especially meaningful to me because it helps humans enjoy their vacation festivities knowing their cats are well-cared for in the comfort of their homes.

She arranged to come by for a visit so we could go over our cats needs and made us feel incredibly comfortable knowing she would be in great hands. Shay let us know when she arrived and that everything looked ok and then at the end of the night sent a fantastic update full of pictures letting us know exactly how things went that we greatly appreciated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Glendale cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $36.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

I am an incredibly private person and I trust Shay completely in my home with my little tribe while I am away. She is kind, respectful, and entirely reliable, excellent with cats, and has always taken really good care of my little ones. They know her and love her. She is gentle with them, thoughtful about their comfort, makes sure they have play time, that their food and water are ready and clean, as well as their bathroom. With my birds, because I do have a tribe, she has also misted them when it’s been hot. She sends me updates with photos during her visits, texts me when she arrives and leaves ensuring me that the front door is locked. She is one of the two or three people I’ve entrusted with a key to my home to have on hand. She is absolutely wonderful and I’m so grateful for her help.
