Cat Sitting in Long Beach, CA

I formerly worked part-time at a cat rescue lounge, where I took care of anywhere from 30-50 cats! I recently switched to just volunteering.
While I’m there, I’m administering daily medications, tracking cat wellness, socializing new rescue cats, trimming nails, cleaning, scooping, feeding, training fellow volunteers, and helping guests.

When cat sitting a new buddy for the first time, I work with the cats level of space and comfort. If the cat likes to play, we get zoomin’! If the cat wants to be pet, we enjoy some calming cuddles together... I formerly worked part-time at a cat rescue lounge, where I took care of anywhere from 30-50 cats! If the cat wants to be pet, we enjoy some calming cuddles together. I’m used to all kinds of purrsonaities, so I’m happy to accommodate your kitties needs, whatever they may be.

On a typical visit, I enter the home, say hello to the kitty, take my shoes off and wash my hands. I then begin to pet/play/brush/do whatever is best for the kitty. I follow feeding instructions, wash and refill food and water bowls, and scoop their litter box while they’re eating to save time for more playing/cuddling after they’ve finished eating. If they have treats or catnip, I’ll offer that. I clean up all pet-related messes and sweep/wipe/tidy up their areas of use. I’ll do a once-over check for food, water, litter box, and anything else that may need tending before leaving.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting for 2 years now, but I’ve worked with a cat rescue lounge for 5 years. I’ve also had cats as pets for my entire life. I’ve been taking care of cats since I was a child!

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, holidays are the times when cat parents need reliable care most, so I’m happy to offer my services on holidays.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is your cats favorite toy. Whatever gets the paws pattering is best. I like to get creative with what they have, and offer a new perspective for them. For example, if a scratcher is always in the same spot, I’ll move it to a new spot for a couple of minutes to entice them to use it (it works 99.9% of the time). If a cardboard box is always face up, face-down it goes, with a noisy ball under it. “What is it?!” I ask. It gets them every time. Enrichment is my game.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
