I'm Jordyn
Cat Sitting in Long Beach, CA
Along with my pet sitting experience, I volunteer at least four hours each week at CatNap Hangout & Adoptions... Hi, My name is Jordyn! Caring for animals has always been a passion of mine, and I've been pet sitting for nearly six years. During that time, I've cared for cats (and dogs) of multiple ages, breeds, and personalities—from playful kittens to senior cats, as well as shy, anxious, and high-energy kitties. Acknowledging that every cat is different, I always take the time to learn their routine, respect their boundaries, and provide care that helps them feel comfortable and secure while you're away.
Along with my pet sitting experience, I volunteer at least four hours each week at CatNap Hangout & Adoptions. There, I work hands-on with adoptable cats by cleaning, feeding, socializing, playing, and helping them build confidence in a new environment with new people. This experience has strengthened my understanding of cat behavior and taught me how to care for cats with a wide range of temperaments and needs.
When you trust me with your cat, you can expect dependable care, plenty of love and attention, and regular photo updates so you always know how they're doing. Whether your cat enjoys interactive play, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I'll make sure they receive the individualized care they deserve. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible. For both you and your cat.
Learn More About Jordyn
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cats is their unique combination of independence, curiosity, and affection. I love how agile and graceful they are, whether they are jumping, climbing, chasing toys, or exploring their surroundings. Playing with cats is one of my favorite parts of caring for them because each cat has their own personality and way of interacting. Animals have also had a meaningful impact on my emotional well-being. Spending time with cats helps me feel calmer, more present, and emotionally balanced. Their companionship brings comfort and joy, and caring for them gives me a sense of purpose. I love building trust with cats and creating a safe, positive environment where they feel happy, comfortable, and loved.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a kitten named Blossom. She is the best kitty I know and she is the most perfect adorable lovebug there is out there. She is my soul cat and wouldn’t trade her for anything.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When caring for anxious cats, I prioritize patience, respect, and building trust at their own pace. I never force interaction and allow cats to approach me when they feel comfortable. I use a calm voice, slow movements, and careful observation of their body language to understand their needs and boundaries. I help anxious cats feel more secure by maintaining their routine, providing a calm environment, and using positive reinforcement through treats, play, and gentle attention. My experience volunteering with cats has helped me work with a variety of personalities, including shy and nervous cats. My goal is always to create a safe, stress-free experience where every cat feels comfortable, respected, and cared for.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service I received. I brought up several of these concerns in real time, but they continued throughout the booking. 1. Front door instructions were repeatedly ignored. I mentioned multiple times that the front door needed to remain open, yet you continued closing it. I shouldn't have to keep repeating the same instruction. 2. Photos are not the same as actual updates. I received photos, but very little information about the visits. Other cat sitters I've used send an actual update explaining what they did, how the cats were doing, and what time they arrived. Photos alone don't tell me any of that. 3. My home was not left the way I left it. Things weren't put back where they belonged. If you're providing a service in someone's home, I expect the home to be left the way you found it. 4. I have concerns about how things were cleaned. There was cat pee on the bathroom floor, and I'm still unclear about how it was actually cleaned. If you couldn't find the cleaning products, why didn't you ask me where they were? Was the floor even swept or Swiffered? I was available to answer questions. 5. I had no idea what time your visits were happening. I specifically said I didn't care about an exact arrival time because my cats are flexible. However, that doesn't mean I don't need to know when you actually visited. There's a big difference between 8 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, and 10 PM. With no times included in the updates, I kept having to ask whether my cats had even been visited. I needed at least some consistency and communication. 6. I wasn't told about accidents, vomit, or other issues. You didn't tell me if my cats threw up, peed somewhere, or had any other accidents. I know Gibby does these things occasionally, so this is information I expect a sitter to communicate. 7. I'm still unsure how much time was actually spent with my cats. I specifically paid for visits that included spending time with them. Did you actually play with them, especially Bagel? Were you there for the full 20 minutes? Because the updates didn't include arrival/departure times or details about what you did, I have no way of knowing. 8. A bag of cat poop was left outside. Instead of asking me where the dumpster was, the bag was left sitting outside where it smelled. The dumpster isn't far away at all. A simple message asking where to dispose of it would have solved the problem. 9. Their water fountain was left empty. I said you didn't need to worry about regularly maintaining the fountain, but if you notice that it's completely empty, I would expect you to simply add water. The fountain makes a loud noise when it's empty, so it's difficult not to notice. Filling it would have taken very little effort and ensured the cats had water. 10. The explanations about Wi-Fi, an overheating phone, and car problems don't excuse the lack of communication. Pictures can still be taken without Wi-Fi. If you were having car problems or something was going to delay your visit, you should have told me beforehand. The other sitters I've used communicated when they were running late or something unexpected happened. This was still a paid job and I expected basic communication. What frustrated me the most is that I mentioned several of these problems while I was away so they could be corrected. When the same things continued happening, it made me feel like there was no point in bringing concerns up she blocked me after asking for feedback

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Long Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $36.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
