A lifelong cat lover, expert and dedicated sitter, I've been caring for cats since I was 8 years old! As a lonely and curious child, I took in a stray tabby cat from the neighborhood and to my surprise she was pregnant, had many kitten litters and was an amazing cat mom to each of her kittens and we’ve all been one big happy cat family. I pride myself on being trustworthy, caring, and reliable! I can provide detailed photo/video updates, and ensuring your feline child feels safe and loved while you're away. Thank you!

Learn More About Somaly

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, I do! I have a 12-year-old senior cat name Tuna. She is a beautiful long-haired Siamese with big blue eyes! I also help my son with his cat too his name is Jiji and he is a 1-year-old orange tabby cat. My sister also has a cat name Toffee and as timid as he is he is still wonderful company. He is a very quirky mixed tabby cat.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When I meet a new cat parent, I start with a thorough consultation to learn about your kitty’s routine — feeding schedule, litter box preferences, play style, and any medical or behavioral notes. I believe cats thrive when their routines are kept consistent, so I tailor my visits to match what they’re used to at home. During each drop-in, I make sure all essentials are covered (fresh food, water, and a clean litter box), and then spend quality time giving play, cuddles, or calm companionship depending on your cat’s personality. After each visit, I’ll send a detailed update with photos and notes so you always know how your kitty is doing while you’re away. My goal is to keep them comfortable, happy, and cared for — as if you’d never left.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love to play with any cat toys really but my go to is the one that have a long stick attached to it kinda like a fishing pole.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I just keep my distance until your cat feels comfortable enough to approach me. I try not to give too much eye contact since that will raise their anxiety. But I will have a treat on hand to reward and show that I’m friendly.

Somaly is absolutely the best!!! She took such great care of my babies. My little one is very shy and usually takes a few days to get used to new people but she was out and cuddling with Somaly almost from day one 💚. She kept in communication and sent me daily pictures of my kitties. It was so wonderful knowing that they were so well cared for while I was so far away. I would highly highly recommend Somaly and will absolutely book her again in the future!!

Somaly is the very gentle and understanding, she provides a sense of security and firmness that even my cat can feel. My cat isn’t in the least social too.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Long Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $35.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
