Cat Sitting in San Diego, CA
With a name like Kathryn, I was destined to be a cat lover. My friends call me Kat or Kitty, and I am proud to say it’s because I am an unabashed cat person! My love for cats started with my first tuxedo kitten I named Bingo, a gift from my mom for my 5th birthday. Since then, our family has included more cats, dogs, fish, a pony, guinea pigs, and hamsters. We even lived next to a farm, where I learned to care for cows, pigs and chickens! I love all animals!
As an adult, I have been a devoted cat mom to 12 rescue cats in total, all having been raised in pairs or multiples and fortunate to have lived long, healthy lives!
To me, cats are magical beings. I consider them better than therapy! Currently, I am a mom to two rescue cats, Fabio and Chabely. I have also been a volunteer with Friends of Cats (where Fabio chose me) and with the San Diego Humane Society; I even head a team for their annual Walk for Animals named Kitty's Litter. :)

I moved to San Diego from the Midwest right after college. After 25+ years in event and hospitality management, the COVID pandemic led me to refocus my career to one that allows more attention towards things that matter most to me, like family time and supporting the animal community. Pets are cherished family members, and it’s a privilege to provide trusted care and love when called upon to help.
* For holidays - or If you need a specific visitation schedule (for administering medication, for instance) - please message me first to confirm my availability at that time. (Even if my calendar appears closed / limited, I will do my best to help!)
* I strongly encourage DAILY drop-in visits, and cannot accept visits scheduled less frequently than every other day for your cat's safety and care.
* I currently live in central San Diego and prefer to keep my travel within a 10 mile radius, as I often have multiple visits in one day.
NOTE: If you’re unsure you’re within my radius or don't see your desired dates available on my calendar, please ask!
* I am currently not able to provide overnight care - my own two kitties would be very unhappy ;)(Overnights are based on a 12-hour continuous period.)
Premium Drop-in attention I provide for your cat(s):
• Daily feedings / treats according to your guidelines
• Scoop / change litter box
• Hairball cleanup
• Administer medications, if needed (eye/ear drops, flea prevention application, pills, oral syringe, insulin injections)
• Engaging playtime for receptive cats (willing to make a fool of myself) or just chilling in respectful silence
• Quality petting / cuddling / brushing (if that’s what kitty desires)
• Stimulating conversation (whether they appear interested or not)
• Music for Cats playlist on my smartphone or just my own singing (lol)
• Photos & videos of your cat (as few or as many as you request)
• Regular recaps of visits with any details you request (litter concerns, etc.)
In addition to pet care, I will:
• Water your plants (I have a green thumb!)
• Pick up your mail
• Bring in your Amazon and other deliveries
And I always clean up after kitty and myself when I am in your home!
Once your reservation is confirmed, we can set up a complimentary Meet & Greet in your home to introduce your kitty(s) and review logistics. I can’t wait to meet more cat friends!

Kathryn is such a great cat sitter! She looked after our 3 year old Russian Blue boy, Iggy, who has mild asthma. Kathryn's ease with cats and many years of being a rescue cat mom as well came in very handy when dealing with our sweet, yet at times rambunctious boy! She's extremely thorough when doing the initial meet and greet, which put us at ease knowing that Iggy would be in great hands. I especially enjoyed the daily updates, photos, and videos she provided. Last, but not least, Kathryn is such a pleasure to talk to and easy to get along with, which is a MUST for me! I definitely recommend Kathryn as a sitter.

Kathryn was truly a blessing! I have two big spoiled rag doll cats, and she attended to them loyally and lovingly. I came home to the two boys, who were utterly calm, well brushed, and happy. She left my home in perfect condition. While I was away, she sent pictures and notes daily, showing them playing and getting petted. She lavished them with attention. I am grateful to know that she is here, should I need to be away again. She is purrrrrfect!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
San Diego cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!

This was our first time booking a cat sitter for our 2 cats. We were nervous at first but all of our worries were put to ease when we met with Kathryn prior to her service where she was very thorough with her questions about our cats routines and care. During her visits she sent us video and pictures along with her updates. This was our first time using a cat sitter so we were slightly nervous at first, but Kathryn did an amazing job. She was thorough, communicative, and asked a lot of great questions at the meet and greet that showed how experienced she was. She also sent daily photos, videos, and updates. Kat is the Cat's Meow !! She adores my Oscar and it shows in her diligent, loving attempts to get my senior cat to expand and explore his eating options. She's a master at giving him his twice daily meds. Per usual, Kat was Amazing and Top Notch in her TLC to my senior cat Oscar. Kat has taken care of Oscar for quite a while now, and I so appreciate that she has history with him and knows his ways.
