š I am the mom of two spoiled cats: Hanni and April. I rescued them in 2024 when they were both about four months old. Hanni is an orange tuxedo cat whoās very mischevious (which is why his full name is Hannibal). He loooves food and he eats every churu like itās his last one. April is a ragdoll whoās very shy when you first meet her. As soon as you befriend her though, sheāll never stop purring on your lap.
š I do require a (free) meet and greet to see if weāre a good fit and to learn how to care for your cat. I have a checklist of questions I like to go through with each client to make sure weāre on the same page.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Meeting new cats and learn about their unique personalities! I love how you never know what type of cat youāll meet solely based on gender, breed, etc. I love getting to befriend all different types of cats and learning about a new cat quirk.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
ā¢ Schedule a meet and greet: Whenever possible, arrange an in-person meet and greet at your home. Itās the best way to show your sitter how to care for your cats and to make sure you feel comfortable trusting them with your pets. If thatās not doable, a quick video or phone call is still a great idea! ā¢ Share your catsā habits and quirks: Let your sitter know how your cats tend to behave when youāre away. For example, one cat I cared for would always get a little stressed and vomit on the first day. Having that heads-up helped me stay calm and attentive. ā¢ Set clear expectations early: Discuss how often youād like updates and what level of care your cats need. A quick drop-in visit is different from watching a cat that needs more hands-on attention throughout the day. Clear communication gives peace of mind to everyone
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When I first got my shy cat April, she found a secret hole in my apartment and hid there for the whole day. I was so worried I called all the local rescues asking for advice and whether I should ask the fire department to tear down my walls to rescue her. Luckily, she came out of the hole after a day and now she always jumps on my lap when I sit down! The incident taught me that time and patience are the most important qualities for dealing with timid cats. I make sure that all the yummy food, fun toys, and cuddles are always there for them when theyāre ready, but I wonāt force them if theyāre not.

Ariana was great at looking after my calico cat over the weekend. She made time for the meet & greet and even took notes during it to ensure she remembered the instructions. She was super communicative through text and sent a bunch of pictures and videos while I was gone. Ariana is punctual and even goes above and beyond to bring in packages and run the roomba around the apartment. Will definitely be booking Ariana again!

I have a traumatized little cat that is very shy. Happy to report that Ariana was able to get my shy little cat out of its hidey spaces in short time! Iām so glad Arianaās first week working with my two cats went very well. My cats and I both feel safe having Ariana in our home, and I would certainly recommend Arianaās cat care!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Francisco cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
