*Reliable, experienced, dependable, detail oriented & super loving cat sitter. I generally reply within 10 minutes. (Yay!) If my schedule or service area doesn't match yours, message me anyway and let's discuss.
*About me: Proud cat mama since 1991. I currently have three rescue cats of my own- Theo, Maxi and Colette. My experience with cats ranges from kitten (bottle feeding)through senior, special needs & hospice care. My idea of a fun Friday night is a cat party with my fur kids - catnip, treats, toys, and watching hilarious battles over the cat scratching lounger. Ready to give your kitties whatever level of play and/or snuggles that they want so they’re comfortable and happy. Some of my clients call me a cat whisperer. My clients' cats get into my heart, and I look forward to seeing them again and again.

Volunteering at animal rescue sanctuaries is another passion of mine. Super excited about my upcoming trip to a fox rescue where I’ll be playing “Farmer Sam”, cleaning the fox houses, pulling weeds, and chasing the foxes when they steal my gardening gloves. (They’re famously sly) Also love baking (I make a great blueberry pie!), music, and thrift store shopping. I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies.
Happy tails, guaranteed!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been cat sitting with Meowtel since November 2021. Every cat truly is like a little person to me. I see them as the intelligent, sensitive being that they are, and respect their needs and preferences. Many of my clients call me a cat whisperer because most cats feel comfortable with me quickly. Giving fellow cat parents the joy of knowing their beloved baby is going to be lovingly cared for while they're away gives me a huge sense of fulfillment.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

One of the things I enjoy most about cat sitting is tuning into their energy and being able to communicate with them as the individuals that they are. Being able to be in a place of just pure love and goofiness with cats is the best.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of the funniest cat sitting experiences I had was with two kittens- a Sphinx and a Devon Rex. They were these tiny little gremlins who loved to pounce on each other and race up and down the hallway. Hearing their tiny little galloping sounds just cracked me up to no end. Another one was with a cat that was so shy at first, she hid behind a mirror. After a couple of days, she started coming out and letting me pet her. That was fulfilling.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My three cats are all rescues. Max Tango, a blue point Siamese. He loves bringing me "gifts"- his toy mice that he "hunts" at night time, then drops in my bed. Theo- my orange and white tabby. Found him wandering around a gas station on Hwy 99. He came right up to me as if he'd been waiting for me. And Colette- she was a neighborhood stray that I fed once, and then she quickly decided I was her forever mama. All of my cats are indoors only so that birds and other living things outside are safe.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Based on my years as a sitter, schedule a long enough visit so that your sitter can give your baby enough quality attention time, after the essentials of feeding and litter box care. Unless your cat is a total hider, most cats need (and deserve) human interaction, petting, playtime of at least a full 20-45 minutes per day, every day.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

For new cat parents - I listen closely to their needs, wants and concerns about leaving their kitty, and share similar experiences so they know I completely understand their needs and how they're feeling. Leaving our cats at home is hard! I totally know that tug at my heart when I want to travel/go on vacation. No one can replace the actual parent, but the right sitter will provide the right sense of safety and comfort to tide them over until mama or daddy gets back.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

1. Before leaving the meet and greet, I test the keys to make sure they work, or that I understand how to work around tricky locks. 2. Practice situational awareness by making sure there's no one hanging around outside of the building, hoping I'll let them come in behind me, or when I'm exiting. 3. Lock the door upon entry. 4. Double check that the door is fully closed and locked before leaving. 5. I anticipate that the cat may be right at the door as I enter, so I open it just a bit at first, and carefully enter quickly so the cat cannot rush out. 6. Before exiting, I look to see where the cat/s are, so I know I can exit safely while keeping them inside. 7. I prefer to leave my shoes by the door. Fewer germs on the floor makes for healthier cats.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes- I am generally available for all major holidays. It's a time when my clients depend on me the most, so that's important to me. I am extremely reliable, which is key for the busy holiday season, especially if you have a kitty on any type of medication- subcutaneous fluids, diabetes/ insulin management, oral medications, you name it, I have administered it.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Paws down, my favorite cat toy is the Cat Dancer. So many clients who thought their cats didn't like playing saw their cats come to life with this toy. It's such a simple toy, but totally interactive. It brings me so much joy seeing my clients having so much fun chasing it, stalking it, and leaping for it!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

First, I avoid wearing any scented products- lotions, perfumes, even heavily scented hand soap can be a major turn off for cats, since their sense of smell is so keen. Then, I'm mindful to move slowly and softly, and just sit on the floor. I give the cat time and space to approach me without trying to pet him or her until they choose to make contact with me. I speak to them in a very soft, quiet voice, and quickly take note of how they like to be petted, if at all.

I met Samantha a little after I moved to the Bay last year, and she is truly exceptional. She is always incredibly loving and caring with my cat, keeping me smiling with funny pictures and thoughtful updates while I'm away. What really stood out to me during this last trip was her kindness and generosity toward me. I was dealing with an unexpected family emergency and stressing over needing to extend my trip... Samantha completely put my mind at ease, and made the extra days work. She consistently reassured me that everything was fine back home so I could focus on my family. I can’t recommend her highly enough, as she goes above and beyond for both her furry friends and their humans. I'll forever be grateful, Samantha!

This was the second time Samantha has cared for Taylor, and the first while I was away for an extended period. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was incredibly in tune with Taylor’s personality, mood, needs, and overall health, and I always felt confident he was in caring, capable hands. She kept me updated throughout my trip with thoughtful communication, which gave me so much peace of mind. When she noticed Taylor seemed a little lonely, she even spent extra time with him just to keep him company, knowing how much he values that attention. She also noticed a few issues around my apartment and proactively let me know right away, which I really appreciated. It’s incredibly hard to find a pet sitter who cares the way Samantha does. She wasn’t just there to complete the visits. She genuinely wanted to build a connection with Taylor, even though he’s a shy, cautious cat who takes time to warm up to people. That level of patience and care is rare, and it meant so much to me. I trust Samantha completely with Taylor and would happily book her again.

Always provides excellent and timely updates regarding our two cats. This most recent sit, Samantha noticed a pipe leaking in our sink and rapidly removed items and cordoned off the area for us to keep our cats away. Could have ended poorly but instead her rapid and sensible actions ensured our cats were safe until we could have a contractor stop by!

Samantha is incredible. From the moment she arrived for our meet and greet, she got right down on the floor to be at Taylor's level, and if you know cats, you know that matters. Taylor is skeptical and nervous by nature, so the fact that he was curious rather than hiding was a huge deal. It's clear that animals, especially cats, are a genuine passion for her. She came with thoughtful suggestions to help him feel more at ease, including cat TV, which he's now very grateful for. I'll be honest: Taylor can be a bit grouchy with people he doesn't trust yet, and he has some health issues on top of that, which makes finding the right sitter a real challenge. Samantha is the first sitter who didn't write him off. Instead, she's patiently working to earn his trust, and she clearly understands that underneath the wariness, he's an incredibly sweet and loving cat. I can't tell you how much that means to me. We recently moved to SF and finding a sitter Taylor and I both felt good about was one of my biggest concerns. We absolutely hit the jackpot with Samantha. Thank you!

samantha Noelle responded promptly when I realized I needed a pet sitter starting the next day. She came the same day for orientation and was very pleasant and professional. while I was gone she won over one of the two cats who is very afraid of strangers. She sent photos every day of the cats and all the other details. we will definitely schedule her again!

Sam was an absolute godsend. From the moment I left, I felt completely at ease knowing my cats were in her hands. her daily recap videos made it clear they were not just cared for, but genuinely loved. she’s also hilarious - I looked forward to her videos every day. She went above and beyond in every sense - thoughtful, communicative, and clearly passionate about cats. She shared tips that made me a better cat parent, including guidance on food for my cat with a sensitive stomach. I’ve texted with her post-trip with follow-up questions, because that’s just the kind of person she is - the kind you want in your corner! My cats were relaxed, (and sassy of course) but happy, and totally comfortable with her, which says everything. Sam has my complete trust, and I’ll be booking her whether I’m gone for one night or two weeks. Highest possible recommendation!!!!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

San Francisco cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $40.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
