All cats come with their own unique personalities and while Iām excited to see that for myself, I will always remember the most important part: respect! As Iāve learned... Hello, my name is Annie and Iām a San Francisco native! š Growing up, my parents never allowed me to have pets but I knew that once I had my own place, the first pet I would get would be a cat. Iāve been a mom to a tortie for 2 years now and I canāt imagine life without her! Iām currently employed as a nanny and am eager to transfer some of those skills over to cat sitting if applicable.
All cats come with their own unique personalities and while Iām excited to see that for myself, I will always remember the most important part: respect! As Iāve learned from nannying, first impressions are everything so itās important to approach calmly, patiently and on their terms.
How my cat visits go will depend on the catās terms. I am open to anything and everything whether it be play, snuggles, sitting in the room with them or just leaving them be.
I will always make sure that your cat(s) feel safe and cared for while youāre away because I know thatās what I would want if I was away from my fur baby!
While in my care, I will make sure your catās litter box is clean, food/water is replenished, and anything else that is of your request. I will always have open communication because I understand the anxiety that comes with leaving your loved one with a stranger.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have a tortie named Nara! š„° She became a part of the family when she was just a little over 2 months old and is now almost 2. While I had to learn that ātortitudeā is real, I wouldnāt change a single thing about her. My partner and I adopted her right after our trip to Japan so we decided to name her Nara because she reminded us of the deer we saw in Nara, Japan!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I think itās important to be picky about who you choose as a cat sitter because at the end of the day, you are putting your trust in someone to take care of your baby. Get to know your sitter - ASK QUESTIONS! No question is a stupid question. I once had a bad experience with a cat sitter and would never want to put any person/cat through that myself.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always try to get down to their level so I donāt seem as intimidating. I do slow blinks in order to try to show Iām not a threat in their language. Itās also important for me to be slow and calm and to go with their timeline in order to not make the situation worse for them. By repeating these steps, hopefully they eventually open up but if not, thatās ok! I will always respect the catās wishes.

Absolutely pawsitive experience with Annie! š¾ She took wonderful care of my two British Shorthair gentlemen, President Alu and Snowy. President Alu (our distinguished brown chap with the splendid ringed tail) was treated like the statesman he is, and Snowy ā white as fresh English snow ā was adored and doted upon. Annie fed them, played with them, and sent plenty of photos and videos (the proper money shots š), which made being away so much easier. From every update, they looked relaxed, happy, and thoroughly chuffed. Reliable, communicative, and truly attentive ā if you want your furry aristocrats treated like royalty, Annie is your lady!

Annie continues to deliver!! I feel such anxiety anytime I have to be away overnight...even if it is for pleasure--like a vacation for myself. Annie made it possible for me to RELAX knowing Amber was in great hands. Annie updated me EACH day (including pictures of the litter box and food bowls--b4 & after!) and sent videos of them playing and Amber purring enjoying Annie's company. I HOPE Annie & Amber and ME have a good near future!!!!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Francisco cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $38.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Annie was super thorough, kind and caring with my cat Frances! She was really responsive and easy to communicate with.
