So, yeah, also, I am a cat whisperer. I didn't think it was a gift, really; for a long time I figured it was just people being nice. I have always been good with animals and children, and the person a tourist will come to for directions. But the "wow, he NEVER goes right up to new people like that," and the "I can't believe SHE is sitting on your lap, she usually hides in the closet," remarks kept adding up. Then it was: "well, doesn't he just LOVE you!" (That is how I got my nickname: "oh, it's amazing, you have to see it, she's a cat whisperer or something.") And just like that, I became "Aunt" to all my friends cats... I am a retired elementary and middle school teacher, a long time yogi and cat lover. I am a mature, responsible, tidy person who will respect the sanctity of your home and your trust in allowing me in it. Right now I am serving the Santa Monica area.
So, yeah, also, I am a cat whisperer. I didn't think it was a gift, really; for a long time I figured it was just people being nice. And just like that, I became "Aunt" to all my friends cats. Soon, I was cat sitting for my friends and neighbors and treasuring the opportunity to care for, tend to, and shower love upon the kitties. Oh, there will be silly song singing and a purr festival in no time, that I can guarantee!
I get cats. I also let them BE. I want them to feel safe. I let them tell me what they need. Sometimes it is space, sometimes it is a lap sit cuddle fest, or tons of play time, sometimes it is just a little scratch behind the ears. Friendly cats, shy cats, young cats, old cats, cool cats, cranky cats: I listen, I whisper, I speak all cat languages and love them all.
I will care for your dear pet and companion as I would one of my own. I will probably make up and sing your cat an original song-embarrassing but they seem to love it! I know first aid, CPR, and cat head. I have experience with kittens, young, mature and elderly cats. My schedule is flexible. I can provide excellent references and offer a free meet and greet to assure you that you are choosing the best cat sitter for you. Please contact me with ANY questions. If I could give Camille six stars I would! It was so wonderful to have her take care of Martin for a week. Other services have a revolving door of many sitters coming and going which can be stressful. I received daily notifications and photos and when I came home the house was impeccably clean and Martin was very at ease and happy. He was truly having a great time with a trusted friend! This makes all the difference in the world.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Santa Monica cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
