I work as an accountant from home and I live in the DU/Washington Park/Platte Park area. I am available for visits after 4pm on the weekdays and during the midmornings on the weekends.
I have my COVID vaccinations and will gladly wear a mask at all times when I come to visit. I do wash my hands several times during the visit and I carry sanitizer in my car and with me when I am out and about. You can never be too careful and I want to ensure that both your kitties and you are safe at all times.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been watching my friends and families pets since I was in my teens but I have been working with Meowtel for several years and loving it!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy meeting the owners and spending time with their cats. Its my chance to spend time with cats/kittens and enjoy their personalities, playfulness and affection. I grew up with cats but I currently have two Australian Shepherds, so this gives me the chance to get my "cat fix"!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I grew up with cats since I was 10 years old. I currently don't have any kitties due to my 2 dogs, but my last cat passed away a couple of years ago at the age of 18. Her name was Nibs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Go with your gut feeling and see how your kitty responds to the sitter. I think it is very important to have a good feeling about the person you are leaving your fur baby with and that they can accommodate your schedule and your cats needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I do a meet and greet with them at a time convenient for them. I like to meet their kitties and ask questions about the cat, whether it needs medications, has certain foods or other needs that are important. I have them show me where the litterbox, food and toys are and it the kitties have favorite toys. I also ask if there are places the cat doesn't like to be touched or certain things the cat loves (ex: scratches behind the ear, likes to cuddle, etc.)
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I ask the owner to leave their Vet's information in case of an emergency (which I hopefully will never have to use). I also ask if the cat likes to try to get outside so I will know to be careful coming and going that they don't get out.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am usually available during the holidays and I try to keep my calendar updated with any days that I will not be able to make visits.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I like the "fishing pole" type of toy and lasers when playing with cats. :)
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I try to keep low key so not to startle them and I let them do the interacting when they are ready for it. I find that keeping calm, speaking softly and giving them their space is very helpful in making the cat feel more comfortable around me.

I had not left my cat ever, except with family, and was extremely nervous. However Shari responded quickly. She came to visit, Chloe a few weeks before sitting time. This was so reassuring to both Chloe and I. Shari spent a lot of time with us and I felt she cared. I was happy she took notes and was totally organized, flexible and easy to communicate with. Shari did contact me before I left to reasssure me all would be fine. The first day of my trip I was concerned something could go wrong but all went as planned and I received a few photos of Chloe. Next day Chloe looked happier and by the third day she ate all her food and purred when Shari came over. I really loved seeing Chloe get more and more accustomed, via the pictures, every day. I was not anxious while away since I felt Chloe was in reliable and capable hands. Chloe has some odd little habits (whip cream and treats and she wears a tracker) Shari did it all. Shari was perfect fit for us. I will use her again.

Shari was fantastic! I very much appreciated her meet and greet. She was very willing to care for our cats and meet their complicated needs since my cats must be kept separate. She took notes during her meet and greet to verify all information. During the actually sitting, she was great about sending pictures, spending some time with the cats, providing them with their supplements, and cleaning their litter boxes. She was even super great about coordinating with us to get the house key back to us. Will definitely be keeping Shari at the top of the list for future cat sitting needs!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Arvada cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Shari was the best cat sitter we could have asked for. She is very pleasant and when she came over to meet our petite, somewhat shy, five year old tuxedo cat (Cleo), Cleo did not run away and actually connected with Shari right away. Cleo only hid under the bed one day and the rest of the days, Cleo came out and played! We are so happy and now have peace of mind leaving our sweetie with capable hands. She always pays attention to Samson’s care details, and she is a wonderful communicator overall. She sends us regular updates to show us how Samson is doing because she knows that we value knowing that he is safe.
