Cat Sitting in Denver, CO

Thank you for considering me to take care of your precious furry family members!
I have been a Meowtel sitter since April 2021 and have completed hundreds of visits for happy clients and kitties. My pet sitting mission is to ensure my wonderful feline clients are comfortable with me as a stranger entering their home and world to care for them. Also very important is that clients are happy and at ease, able to enjoy their time away from home while leaving their pets in my care. I have 2 sweet fur companions of my own, Albert and Willow.

I really enjoy this 2nd career on mine. I've been working and volunteering for many years with cat care organizations here in Colorado, since 2007 and while living previously in Philadelphia. My duties included helping out with the many shelter chores, and activities...

I really enjoy this 2nd career on mine. I've been working and volunteering for many years with cat care organizations here in Colorado, since 2007 and while living previously in Philadelphia. My duties included helping out with the many shelter chores, and activities. I have had the privilege of being owned by many cats fostered and adopted into my home over many years and also seeing the joy of people welcoming new companions into their homes.

I understand and appreciate all the joy, responsibilities and the satisfaction of caring for your fur kids while you’re away. I know how Important it is to be able to handle illnesses and medication, providing vet care. and unfortunately the heartbreak of saying goodbye when the time comes.
I am comfortable with administering medications if necessary and I have very good references for complicated medications requirements, Please see my reviews from several current clients with diabetic babies I have cared for. Your special needs are given extra special attention to details.

I am currently semi-retired from a career in audio/event production but still work part time. I have 3 years in as a cat sitter and I really enjoy my time looking after these family members of yours, thanks to Meowtel,
I enjoy meeting new clients and fortunately most cats seem to like me also.. Message me directly if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you and

Learn More About David

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

Been a Meowtel Sitter since 2021 but before that I took care of friends pets, dogs and many cats since moving to Denver in 2007.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love cats and the unique personalities of every feline I see. Also I enjoy the human interaction and knowing clients have peace of mind when they leave their beloved family members in my care. It’s vital to always have the trust and understanding needs of people who have kitties requiring timely medications and older kitties that need special care.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Not a single favorite reservation but a cumulative experience with a client. My first year also my best client, lots of visits 2x day to administer insulin every 12hrs. My client has since moved to Hawaii and is now my landlady. I gained a beautiful house in the best neighborhood and my 3rd adoptee who transitioned from an outdoor neighborhood guy to an inside companion.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

#Meowtel #Catmandave Read over the profiles and review for the sitters that might be a good fit to look after your cats, depends on your needs. Reach out by message if you have any questions.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I send an initial Message ASAP and start an online dialogue, to gather info and arranging a meetup if they have already booked a reservation.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I’m very vigilant when entering for any curious kitties lurking near the door, I’ve never had a runner yet! I make sure I have alarm codes and procedures to enter and exit. Before leaving I make sure lights and alarms are set as instructed, usually do a final head count and I double check the doors are locked upon exit.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! It’s my favorite time of the year for sitting as clients really appreciate the time I put in so they can visit family at those times.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The ones the cats prefer of course! My cats like catnip mice and fishing pole toys. Cardboard boxes are favorite hiding spots

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Timid cats are left to decide their own level of attention or activity towards me. I usually lead all new meetings with an outstretched back of my hand for sniffing, usually works! I’ve had visits where cats hide and I merely try to get a quick visual, under bed, behind furniture, etc. I find it’s best to let kitty do their own thing. Soft reassuring voice is good, no sudden advances or gestures that could be threatening. I’ve had only a few aggressive anxious cats but best to leave them be than to engage with them causing more stress.

I can't speak enough to the quality of care David provided. On the front end, David is punctual, courteous, professional. Throughout the visits, his ability to 'tap into' the needs of our senior, blind kitty was almost a 'vet-trained, animal-psychologist' level of intuition and knowledge. He treated our cat as if it were his own, and as if it were not a business transaction. We come home to a cat who is calm, clean, and acting as if we just stepped out for a minute, not a week. Moving forward, I'd highly recommend to anybody, especially those who have a special needs cat or are a little anxious about leaving their little feline behind.

David was incredible. I messaged him the day I had to go out of town asking for his help caring for my 5 year old kitty Winnie, who was just diagnosed with an eye infection (that morning at 7am 🫠). He was quick to respond to my request and initiated a phone call so we could talk through Winnie’s medication needs which were every 8 hours for 5 days. I thought no way would anyone sign up for that, in general, certainly not day of my reservation request and FOR SURE not over NYE. But David listened to Winnie’s needs and agreed to help care for her the full 5 days I was out of town. A literal miracle. He was consistent in his arrival times to administer Winnie’s medication and always sent an update with photo afterwards — even at midnight when one of her doses was due. I cannot recommend David enough to care for your kitties. He blew my expectations out of the water and is the only cat sitter I’ll book moving forward. Thank you, David!! ❤️

David always takes good care of our 2 kitties including our diabetic cat Sparky. David gave Sparky insulin shots twice a day from syringes we prefilled. He played with them both and managed the challenge of keeping both cats fed in separate rooms. He scooped the litter boxes, filled the water dishes and sent photos daily. We absolutely trust David to care for our home and our pets while we are out of town.

David made our trip stress free! We have a kitty who requires liquid medication and eye drops and David was able to accommodate both with ease. We received text and photo updates daily which was very much appreciated. Thank you David!!!

As always, David was excellent and I felt confident that my boys were very well taken care of. I tend to leave very lengthy notes and instructions for when I’m out of town. My older Kitty needs daily medication and the younger one is very shy, but they both took well to David. He always sends lots of photos with great updates each time he’s over. Will always highly recommend him if you’re looking for honest, reliable help to watch over your babies when traveling.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Denver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
