Hi! I’m Merritt, I work as a pediatric nurse in Denver, and absolutely love cuddling with my cats and getting outdoors when I’m not at work. I have two kittens of my own, and absolutely understand wanting peace of mind about them when I’m away from home, and I strive to give the care I want for my kittens to all of my clients! We tend to think that cats are very independent and don’t need much interaction, but I know they really do love their humans and need enga... Hi! We tend to think that cats are very independent and don’t need much interaction, but I know they really do love their humans and need engagement and play, so I always try to engage and interact with them as much as possible during my visits. I am also comfortable with giving medications, I haven’t given all types of medications with cats but I feel confident in my ability to learn how to administer them for you while you’re gone. I work 12 hour night shifts and usually only have my schedule 8 weeks in advance, but I try to keep my calendar as up to date as possible and communicate my availability!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Each cat has such a unique personality, which is why I love cat sitting and getting to meet new cats. It’s so rewarding when they learn to trust me more, especially after a few days. Nothing makes me happier than when they come to greet me at the door and are fully engaged with me when I visit, it feels like a little victory!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two kittens, Billie (Eilish) and Mick (Fleetwood). Billie is a calico and she is absolutely crazy, Mick is an orange tabby and is surprisingly calm for an orange cat. They are filling big paws, my childhood cat of 18 years passed last summer, but I see her in little things that they do which makes me really happy.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always like to meet up in person with a new cat parent to meet them, their cat, and get instructions and ask any questions I might have. I think it’s great to meet in person to be able to establish that rapport!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Denver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
