What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been around cats my whole life and have three of my own, so I’m very familiar with their personalities, routines, and quirks. I’ve also been pet sitting (and babysitting!) since I was 12, so caring for others comes naturally to me.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to know each cat’s personality; Figuring out what makes them feel comfortable and happy is part of the fun. Plus, hanging out with cats is cheaper than therapy! 😸

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of my favorite cat-sitting experiences was with a very shy rescue kitty who wanted absolutely nothing to do with me at first. For the first couple of days, she kept her distance, only sneaking out to eat when she thought I wasn’t looking. I didn’t push, I just stuck to her routine, talked to her gently, and let her set the pace. By the end of the reservation, she was curled up next to me on the couch, purring like we’d been friends forever. Watching her go from very cautious to super cuddly was so rewarding, and it’s one of the things I love most about cat sitting.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do! I have three cats of my own: Luna is my 10-year-old tuxedo girl. She’s too smart for her own good and always finding new hiding spots around the house. She’s also an unapologetically picky eater… classic tuxedo energy. Rufus is my 6-year-old orange boy and the only male in the bunch. He’s a total sweetheart who loves playing in the snow (seriously!) and spends most of his time lounging in his favorite sunny window perch. Jynx is the baby of the family. She’s about 3, tiny, and full of sass. She’s a rescue… or maybe more accurately, she rescued me. I found her in the parking lot of my apartment complex one winter, and she came running out from under a car, instantly asking for pets like we’d known each other forever. I brought her in while searching for her owner, but she never left. She’s been with me ever since!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I always recommend meeting them in person. Trust your gut! If you feel comfortable and confident, that’s usually a good sign. Don’t hesitate to ask questions to get a clear idea of the kind of care your sitter provides. I also suggest signing a Vet Release Form ahead of time, just in case. It ensures that if anything unexpected comes up, your pet can be taken to a vet you know and trust.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new cat parent, I always start with a meet-and-greet so I can get to know their fur babies and learn about their usual routine. During that time, I make note of their personality, behavior, and any special needs they may have. If the owner wants updates, I’m happy to send photos or videos throughout the visit, but I also respect those who prefer minimal check-ins. My goal is to make sure both the cat and their human feel completely at ease while they’re apart.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make it a priority to follow your cat’s routine closely and keep them safe and comfortable. I always make sure the house is locked up, everything’s secure, and things are left just as I found them. If anything seems off or out of the ordinary, I’ll reach out right away. You can relax knowing your cat (and your home) are in good hands while you’re away.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I’m available for bookings during holidays (with only a few rare exceptions), and I keep my calendar updated regularly so you’ll always know when I’m free. I know how important it is to have reliable care, especially during the busy seasons!

What is your favorite cat toy?

I’ve gotta go with catnip toys. They’re such a simple thing, but most cats love them. Some get the zoomies, some roll around like they’re in pure bliss, and others just zone out and vibe. It’s fun to watch how each cat reacts differently… some are total goofballs with it, while others turn into little loafs just soaking it all in.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For timid or anxious cats, I always take things slow and gentle. I give them plenty of space and let them come to me on their own terms, if and when they’re ready. I try to keep things quiet and consistent, sticking to their routine to help avoid any extra stress. Over time, I’ll offer treats or just hang out nearby to show them they’re safe with me, but I never push it. Patience really is key, and I always respect their boundaries while making sure they feel as comfortable and secure as possible.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
