Hi! I’m Taylor — a lifelong cat lover with a grounded presence that cats naturally respond to. I adore cats and their intuitive, independent, and deeply affectionate nature, and I understand how important it is to feel at ease when leaving your cat in someone else’s care.

I approach each visit with patience, attentiveness, and respect for your cat’s unique personality. Whether they are playful and social or shy and observant, I take time to connect in a way that feels safe and comfortable for them. I’m experienced with feeding routines, feeding area/bowl cleaning, litter box care, playtime, brushing, and administering basic medications if needed.

I work from a place of mindfulness and gentleness — creating a calm environment that allows everyone to feel at ease. I’m also happy to send detailed updates and photos so you feel connected and reassured.

Your cat’s emotional well-being matters just as much as their physical care, and I would be honored to spend time with your beloved companion!

Learn More About Taylor

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

After 20+ years of caring for feline friends, I have experience across every stage of life — from playful kittens to senior cats and compassionate end-of-life support. I’ve cared for cats with different temperaments, medical needs, and routines, including administering most forms of medications and supporting special diets. I understand how sensitive and intuitive cats are, and I take pride in creating a calm, safe, and loving environment for them while their humans are away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I genuinely love meeting new cats and getting to know their unique personalities. Building trust with a new kitty — especially one who may feel unsure while their owner is away — is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy creating a calm, comforting presence so they feel safe and cared for, and it’s always special to see them relax, play, and connect over time. Knowing I can make their experience less stressful and more positive is my favorite part of cat sitting.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of my favorite reservations was caring for Joey, (who’s in my profile picture) a kitty who had just moved from Costa Rica and was adjusting to a new home. I stayed with him and his three feline housemates for a month while their owner traveled, helping them settle into a routine. I was later invited back for two weeks to assist with Joey’s recovery after hip surgery, which was very special and rewarding.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I don’t currently have cats of my own because my work requires frequent travel, but I grew up with cats and have cared for them throughout my life. I truly miss having a kitty companion, which is part of why I love cat sitting so much. It allows me to give genuine attention, affection, and presence to each cat I care for, and I treat every home and pet as if they were my own.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I recommend choosing a sitter who communicates clearly, asks thoughtful questions about your cat’s routine and personality, and is willing to do a meet-and-greet beforehand. A good sitter prioritizes consistency, updates, and your cat’s comfort so you can truly relax while away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new client, I generally like to schedule a meet-and-greet to learn your cat’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, and any medical or behavioral needs. During visits I follow your instructions carefully, as well as maintaining normal routine, spend quality time with your cat, and send updates with photos so you always know how they’re doing.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I carefully follow all instructions provided and double-check doors, locks, and windows before leaving. I’m mindful about preventing escapes, especially with doorways and indoor only and shy cats. I also monitor eating, litter box use, and behavior for any changes and immediately communicate concerns, keeping both your cat and home safe and secure.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I’m typically available during holidays and happy to help when travel demand is highest. I plan ahead to keep my schedule consistent, so your cat can stay comfortable and cared for while you’re away.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love wand or ā€œfishing lineā€ toys because they create interactive, one-on-one play. Most cats respond really well to them, and they’re great for exercise and mental stimulation. I enjoy matching the play style to each cat’s personality and energy level.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With timid or anxious cats, I move slowly and keep my energy calm and quiet. I allow them to approach at their own pace rather than forcing interaction. I use gentle voice cues, stillness, and positive reinforcement like treats (if approved) to build trust gradually and help them feel safe.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Golden cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
